(by Naoko Morishita)

I was pictured and quoted in an article about absinthe (a long time interest and hobby of mine) in the Style section of the NY Times on Sunday, Jan. 4th.

late night with a headlamp (original shot from years back), together with 3 texture shots.

Top of a bottle of absinthe, just under 3" across. Shot through the back of the bottle to the front, where the design on the glass reflects up on to the underside of the surface of the liquor.

Macro Mondays: Beverage

This absinthe set comes complete with water dripper, absinthe spoon with sugar cube, absinthe glasses, French cafe saucers (used to serve absinthe and show the price in 19th century cafes), and of course, a bottle of absinthe!

Attached absinthe when touched.

One of my first Zoom shoots in the lockdown for the 12:12 Project Quarantine Group was with Cellista and it ended with a few shots from this bottle. Cheers!

McCulloch Gallery, 8 Rankins Lane, Melbourne

Friday March 13th - Sunday March 22nd

We spent the weekend at a friend's near Half Moon Bay. Although she lives only 2 miles away, she had never been to the controversial Martin's Beach, so we spent both evenings down there. On this, the first of the 2, we got fogged out of our sunset at the last moment. We got our sunset the next night - I'll show it to you later.

Even the chairs start dancing with that stuff.

In my new home, we keep the thermostat cold enough that 'room temperature' alcohol wouldn't burn! I had to heat this slowly in a double boiler before I could get the shot. Unexpected.

I am redoing an old Belgium series for Gary, who I have found to be as big of a Belgiophile as I am.

Hi Everyone grab a seat and let me pour you a glass of poetry that goes by the name of absinthe the drink of poets and all others who fancy themselves as artists and other kinds of outcasts of society .This drink will either have you seeing and thinking of things beyond your mind, or take you to a deep dark place where many hidden demons lay and wait for you to sink into,After drinking a few glasses of this I think I seen both sides,I even seen myself as a alien with a mushroom like head,it was just one of many visions I had,I don't want to get into all the things I seen for living them again would be to painful and nightmarish so if you ever get a chance just for one night you too if your brave enough or stupid enough can dance with the green fairy, just remember she doesn't dance for free and that my friends is a dance ticket you might not want to punch, but everyone should be able to call themselves at least once (The Absinthe Drinker) Steve.

Guilty pleasures - Absinthe was a long time illegal in many countries.
