I took this os the bottle of Absinthe that I got. Absinthe is historically described as a distilled, highly alcoholic (45–74% ABV / 90-148 proof) beverage. This one was flavored with green tea. Absinthe is known as the Green Fairy.

It’s national absinthe day. This is some eerily lighted St. George absinthe. Besides St. George being the first new small distillery post-prohibition, it was also the first American absinthe to be release after the ban ended in 2007.

In Chicago we drink a lot of Wormwood in the form of Malort and Besk, but absinthe taste quiet different and can be quite a treat when served correctly.

This is how you prepare real absinthe, by soaking a sugar cube in it and then burning it into a glass. Then you add water.

This absinthe is not green, but Swiss.
