Beaded rose brooch in minty absinthe green, to match dress my Mum made

This is at Bar Marsella. It is thought to be the oldest bar in Barcelona and is where Ernst Hemingway went to get some absinthe. Back in the day absinthe had an ingredient called wormwood and when drank in the right amount it acts as a hallucinogen. Now it has been taken out but the drink is very strong and has to be diluted.

In order to drink it you have to soak a sugar cube then light it on fire (like in the pic). Then you pour water slowly over the cube and it dissolves.

Observational Study in 'Magic Marker' pens

This is my absinthe collection. I managed to hold off trying it until I moved into my own place and got some photos of the bottles, so I hastily set this up last night.

I wish the picture captured the metallic sheen of this green.

This is a 4-spout Absinthe water fountain at Peché. The place is Austin's 1st absinthe bar, where pre-prohibition style cocktails are prepared.

And as you can tell they taste absolutely delicious!

Fantastic homemade absinthe from an 1870 recipe. They make the whole thing from scratch, even the base alcohol. Very smooth and tasty.

Using Eichelberger absinthe. I forgot to add this cup to the Measuring Tool pic.
