"Youth in Asia" was intended to be a commentary on Bio-Mechanical engineering. After it's completion my wife had a different take on it, she saw it as a statement on plastic surgery and the pursuit of youthful perfection. Whichever meaning, they both encompasses our quest for immortality.

White-Morphs: The body and wings are white. Long-tailed white-plumaged birds have dark shaft streaks (absent in rufous birds). The edges of the wings and tail feathers are sometimes black.

Intermediate forms between rufous and white also exist.

The eye rings are blue. The long, narrow tail is rounded at the tip, except for the two streamers that droop. The black bill is round and sturdy.

This distinctive stork is found mainly in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. I saw it for the first time during my 2014 trip to India. They are quite common around any watering hole. They feed on snails, the gap between the bills has nothing to do with grabbing or opening snails. Apparently this gap doesn't exist on juveniles and only opens up with age. This photo was taken while sitting on a dinghy. No motor boat is allowed in this Oxbow Lake formed by the river Ganges; this provides a nice quiet area for all kinds of migratory birds.
