The Asian brown flycatcher is a small passerine bird in the flycatcher family Muscicapidae. The word Muscicapa comes from the Latin musca, a fly and capere, to catch.
Scientific name: Muscicapa latirostris
Cebu City (vroeger ook wel Sugbu genoemd) was al een welvarende nederzetting voordat de Spanjaarden er arriveerden in 1521. De inwoners handelden met de volkeren uit de regio. De eerste Europeanen die hier aankwamen waren de opvarenden van de Spaanse vloot onder leiding van de Portugees Fernão de Magalhães. Op zondag 7 april 1521 voeren ze de haven van Cebu City binnen met de overgebleven drie schepen (de Trinidad, de Victoria en de Concepcíon), waar ze een ontwikkelde beschaving aantroffen. Op 14 april 1521 werd de koning (Rajah) Hamabon van Cebu samen met zijn vrouw en 800 van zijn onderdanen gedoopt en bekeerd tot het christendom. Met Magalhães liep het slecht af, toen hij een paar weken later in een gevecht met een koning van het naburige Mactan, genaamd Lapu-Lapu, stierf aan zijn opgelopen verwondingen.
Tientallen jaren na Fernão de Magalhães kwam op 27 april 1565 Miguel López de Legazpi met een 400 man grote expeditie in Cebu aan. De stad werd met de grond gelijk gemaakt en later weer opnieuw opgebouwd door de Spanjaarden. Ze noemden deze eerste Spaanse nederzetting in de Filipijnen: Villa del Santisimo Nombre de Jesús.
Zes jaar lang, terwijl de Spanjaarden bezig waren om de controle over de hele archipel te krijgen, was Cebu de hoofdstad van de nieuwe Spaanse kolonie. Toen Legazpi in 1571 Cebu verliet en vertrok naar de nieuwe hoofdstad Manilla, bleven ongeveer de helft van zijn soldaten in Cebu achter onder leiding van een provinciale gouverneur.
Pas drie eeuwen later kwam er, net als in de rest van de Filipijnen, een einde aan de Spaanse overheersing middels het uitroepen van de onafhankelijkheid op 12 juni 1898 door Emilio Aguinaldo. Kort daarna in 1901 werd Cebu een gemeente. Op 24 februari 1937 werd Cebu een stad.

Comme certains d'entre vous le savent je suis amené à partir du 27 mai au 17 juin exposer en Asie : Tokyo, Séoul puis Pékin. 1 semaine en chaque capitale où je vais exposer une installation photographique dont le thème s'appelle "Nights and days in Paris". Pour chacune des galeries de ces capitales j'ai réalisé une installation qui comprendra une valise qui contiendra 3 box carton (1 box 24 diapos "Days in paris", 1 box 24 Diapos "Nights in Paris" et 1 box avec led qui servira de caisson lumineux ... pour que chacun puisse prendre n'importe qu'elle diapo et se la voir "éclairée" ) ET une photo grand format imprimée en subligraphie sur alu laquée.
Ces 3 installations rentrant dans une plus grosse valise au dimension autorisée pour les frets aériens soit moins de 23 kg ...
Tout un souk technique car je n'ai pu mettre avec que 2 pantalons et 3 tee shirts ...
Bref ça va rouler j'espère (les roulettes de ma valise s’entend ...)
Je tacherais de mettre quelques images de mon séjour sur flickr si la technique suit.

As some of you know, from May 27 to June 17, I am exhibiting in Asia: Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing. 1 week in each capital where I will expose a photographic installation whose theme is called "Nights and days in Paris". For each of the galleries of these capitals I realized an installation which will include a suitcase which will contain 3 boxes cardboard (1 box 24 slides "Days in paris", 1 box "Nights in Paris" and 1 box with led which will serve as light box ... so that everyone can take any slide and see it "lit") AND a large size photo printed in sublimation on lacquered aluminum.
These 3 installations entering a larger suitcase to the size allowed for airfreight is less than 23 kg ...
All a technical souk because I could put with only 2 pants and 3 tee shirts ...
In short it will roll I hope (the wheels of my suitcase is heard ...)
I would try to put some pictures of my stay on flickr if the technique follows.
