Here is a 1/72 scale Bristol Spaceplanes Ascender model I'm building from wood.
Carving the airfoil into the top of the wing. It took a really sharp chisel and plane to cut the wood smoothly, as much of the cutting had to happen cross-grain.

"Winged Figure Ascending", a sculpture by Stephen De Staebler, was installed in March 2012 in The Bosque area near the Hatheway Cultural Center on the Godfrey campus of Lewis and Clark Community College. Born in St. Louis, Staebler was an important figure in the Bay Area Figurative Movement and an internationally celebrated sculptor best recognized for his work in clay and bronze. His art is in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Smithsonian American Art Museium, The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and many others. Photo by S.
