These stairs once led to one of the cannons mounted at Fort Canby above the Long Beach Peninsula. They now lead to a trail into the forest and I don't think it will be long before they become a part of said forest.

Let's return to Lisbon once more. Shown here is an eléctrico of the Circuito Turistico. They aren't part of the regular tram service, but áre eléctricos, operated by Carris staff.
Some info about these trams: The 'remodolades' were manufactured by Brill (USA) from 1936-1940, they are powered by two Metrovick 45 hp traction engines and weighed 10 metric tons. All the Eléctricos still in service were modernized by Vosloh Kiepe (now Kiepe Electric) in 1995-1996. The 45 vehicles were renamed, getting the number range 541 to 585). The trams kept their classic wooden bodywork and the Brill dashboard but got modern propulsion (Škoda / ALS 2480 LN) and braking (Knorr) systems. The remodelled trams lost their bidirectionality, so they now feature a central headlight only at one end and red tail lights at the other. The trams were also equipped with a dual electrical contact system - both a trolley pole and a pantograph. The refurbishment price was 60 million Escudos (300.000 Euro) per tram.

Not very seasonal I know but it cools me down thinking about that morning on a hot day like today. It was a very cold morning, we nearly didn't make it to our starting point in Mungrisdale due to ice on the side road. This was taken on an ascent of Bowscale Fell 702m in the northern fells of the Lake District before descending back to the col to continue to Bannerdale Crags 683m above the shadowy cliffs on the left in the image. On the right are the slopes ascending to Atkinson Pike and eventually to Blencathra up in the clouds.

A young woman bounds up the stairs of the amphitheater at The Getty Center in Pacific Palisades, California on a bright, sunny October morning.
I just love to snap away into the sky with the tall and mighty budding into what will someday be leaves again.Right now things have only just begun and with some nice weather am hoping to stretch my legs and breath in all that forest fresh air.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.
