These stairs once led to one of the cannons mounted at Fort Canby above the Long Beach Peninsula. They now lead to a trail into the forest and I don't think it will be long before they become a part of said forest.

Not very seasonal I know but it cools me down thinking about that morning on a hot day like today. It was a very cold morning, we nearly didn't make it to our starting point in Mungrisdale due to ice on the side road. This was taken on an ascent of Bowscale Fell 702m in the northern fells of the Lake District before descending back to the col to continue to Bannerdale Crags 683m above the shadowy cliffs on the left in the image. On the right are the slopes ascending to Atkinson Pike and eventually to Blencathra up in the clouds.
I love to explore places (and stores..lol) in SL. One day I came to this store with so many photographic places. So, I took several pics and I can't get enough..

It was quite amazing how the green on the edges of this stairway stood out. The green was more vivid than the surrounding green. And, it was rather interesting how it clung to the edges of the ascending steps.
This image is however not complete. Although a good example of a leading line, there is nothing to reward the eyes at the end. Something I feel strongly about. But, it is an interesting shot none the less.

I just love to snap away into the sky with the tall and mighty budding into what will someday be leaves again.Right now things have only just begun and with some nice weather am hoping to stretch my legs and breath in all that forest fresh air.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.
