My first good attempt at astronomical photography. A meteor shot right through this frame during the exposure, but not bright enough to show up. Maybe next time. I also need to get a lens hood to prevent the light bleeding in at the corners.
Birla Mandir or the Lakshmi-Narayan Temple, situated just below the Moti Dungari is a modern temple built of white marble on top of a hill, dominating the skyline of south Jaipur. The Birlas (industrialists who have also built several temples in India) built this temple.
The temple has been constructed in white marble and has three domes, each portraying the different approaches to religion. The presiding deities here are Vishnu (One of the Hindu Trilogy Gods) called Narayan and his consort Lakshmi Goddess of wealth and good fortune. The temple is built is white in marble and exterior has carved sculptures of various mythological themes and images of saints. The interior has large panel in marble of mythological proceedings. The images of the deities are placed in the sanctum sanctorum. Built on raised ground, it is surrounded by large lush green gardens.

This view of the stair case came from me sitting on a step rather than standing above it. I felt that taking the picture from the same level as the steps would bring a question into play. Should the photograph be look at as ascending or descending?

I made some progress on my Ascender model. The cabin and fuselage have been roughed out using plane, chisel, and carving knife.

A horse riding and packrafting journey to western Mongolia undertaken by Matthew Traver and Jamie Maddison in October/November 2012.
The trip served as training for their larger expedition in 2013 titled One Steppe Ahead (www.onesteppeahead.com). During the course of their journey they rode 250km south from Olgii towards Altai, near the border of China. Along the way the met and lived with Kazakh eagle hunters and local nomadic families and documented their way of life through film, photography and sound recordings.
