Seen from the Escalante Route.
We did a 4 day/3 night backpack trip from the South Rim in Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona.
We descended into the canyon on the Tanner Trail and camped the first night at Tanner Beach. We continued on the Escalante Route and camped at Cardenas Creek the second night and Red Canyon the third. We ascended out of the canyon on the Tonto Trail and the Grandview Trail.

Barnacle Geeze ascending on an early morning with a herd of Konik horses on the background in the Oostvaardersplassen, the Netherlands. This national park is the result of the constructing of the Afsluitdijk (Closure Dike), which in 1932 disconnected the Zuiderzee (Southern Sea) from the Waddenzee (Wadden Sea) that is connected to the North Sea. The lake called the IJsselmeer was born. Following the years after the construction of the Closure Dike, a natural area started to develop, which would become the Oostvaardersplassen.

the epic battle of monster tree v. ice.
pretty cool veiw during the first hours of the day.
pretty much, all of my windows on the front and the back of the house
have these prison bars of ice on the outside.
the sides, none, due to a lack of eaves.
now, if only the ice were dripping from the tree -- that would be pretty badass.

A stairway that takes one to the top of the hill as it cuts into the hill.
A stairway among the drying grass.
I like the warmth of this photo and the way that the hill contrasts with the sky.
The sky seems soft compared to the hill, although the detail of the hill is not too sharp.
I guess that it’s a combination of the colours and the levels of detail.
