Cho Oyu, or at least I think so.

Tingri is one of the last real towns before the border.
It is in Tingri County, Shigatse Prefecture with a population of around 523. It is often used as a base by mountain climbers preparing to ascend Mount Everest or Cho Oyu.
It is known for its spectacular views of Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu, and Cho Oyu, which comprise four of the six highest mountains in the world.

The view from the top must have been superb. Actually, i'm not sure where the "top" is ... perhaps up in space above the earth's atmosphere.
I was too much of a wimp to even ascend a few steps up the stairs when there was no railing to hold on to.

This passage called Mastodon after the discovery of several mastodon bones descends for about a quarter of a mile. Explorers entering the cave find themselves at the top of this long sloping descent. One must be careful to conserve enough energy to make the trip back up after a long grueling trip.

Somehow looks very different at night, as if the steps ascend up into the darkness, leading who knows where, and what manner of shade or spectre from Edinburgh's many past centuries may walk beside you on those night-time steps...
