Boeing Company - Boeing 787-83Q Dreamliner - N787ZA (c/n 40695/6)
Also known as ZA006, this 787 is equipped with General Electric GEnx engines. On this day, both GEnx engines were run in preparation for this aircraft's first flight on October 5, 2010.
Here the starboard side GEnx engine is started and run for the first time. The smoke you see is storage oils being burnt off.
UPDATE (August 2014) - After faithfully completing its 787 flight test obligations, N787ZA has spent the past couple of years at Lackland Air Force Base undergoing refurbishment prior to delivery to the Mexican Air Force (Fuerza Aérea Mexicana / FAM) for use as a VIP aircraft. The aircraft is now registered as XC-MEX.
UPDATE (December 2018) - XC-MEX was flown to storage at was withdrawn from service and placed into storage at Southern California Logistics Airport (Victorville Airport) (VCV / KVCV), in Victorville, California, on December 3, 2018. Why? See:
Aeronautics Online - All Mexican Government Planes Put On Sale, by Mathias Cabuy - December 5, 2018
On Monday, Mexico’s Presidential Boeing 787 (registered XC-MEX) flew to Victorville, California for storage while it waits for a buyer. Its last mission was to fly the old Mexican president to Buenos Aires for the G20 Summit. XC-MEX was delivered just four years ago.
This retirement is one of the first actions of Mexico’s new president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. He wants to reform Mexico radically. The sale of this 787, which Obrador has called “too lavish” for a Mexican leader, is the first election promise turned into reality. All other governments planes and helicopters also be sold soon. From now on, all government officials in Mexico will fly with commercial airlines like Aeromexico, of course in Economy Class.
The 787’s sale will likely generate a major loss for the Mexican government. In a best-case scenario, Mexico will get $76 million less than what it paid for the plane, according to Flight Ascend Consultancy. It is unclear as to how much Mexico is asking for the plane. . . .
It was an incredible view on top of Willow Pass. My friend David and I had ascended from Crater lake through the basin visible on the right. You can see David with his tripod on a hill near the top right corner. Shortly after this shot was taken we descended into Willow Lake Basin to a campsite near the shore of the lake in the shadows on the left.

This is a very recent shot, 2 days old to be exact. We had some great days in near isolation with nice snow, nice weather, nice people, nice food and ... well, it was nice.

A view from the fisheye lens showing where I sat for 1.5 hours watching a juvenile Tricolored Heron (Egretta Tricolor) hunt for breakfast on Horsepen Bayou, Texas, USA.
You can see my Olympus OMD EM1 with ZD 150mm f2.0 on my DiY bipod and the other EM1 with MZ 300mm f4.0 IS Pro laying on the bottom of the kayak. Photograph taken with my EM5 and Bower 7.5mm fisheye lens.
Also want to mention the amazing Ronny Fisher PFD by Astral Designs. I am so happy they came out with a very high quality PFD aimed at fisherman and hunters. If you are in the market for a quality camo PFD, this is the one to get.
Things have turned a deeper shade of blue

No black and white in the blue
Everything is clearer now
