To push myself, I decided to attempt a levitation shot today. Streaming sunlight in the late afternoon provided perfect lighting, and the lake next door to my house offered forth a landscape. I was pleasantly surprised with the muted colors.

this was an old old promos from last year at about june last year i geuss so i havent been doing strobist work that long yet but i uploaded it re-edited with my new style and i like it a lot better now and im sirprised at how good the lighting was on the original shot

i guess i uploaded this to show ive some what progressed and gotten better in some aspects that and i really love this shot and i never promoted my old flickr at all and now i have alot more people to see it =]

50mm f1.8-i upgraded to the 50mm f1.4 so i dont need the 1.8 anymore

How Hitler was able to ascend to Power

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"How was Hitler able to ascend to almost absolute power?"

“Maybe we could have prevented the war to break out, if the German people would not have voted so numerous on Him and made him so popular?” asks an acquaintance, an artistically gifted lady who has extensively travelled the world.

The Question sparked my knowledge and I started writing the follow story.

That may be an interesting thought, but the historian must deny that little idea.

In Reality, we saw the opposite happening: only A.H. offered a solution to the great need for Pride in the humiliated German People. There was a widespread need for Revenge. He offered the necessary Fighting Spirit. Furthermore, this man had the political astuteness and the perseverance to become the leader of the people.

Most Germans had lost all courage & fitness, after the unjust treaty of Versailles, ending the hostilities in 1919 without real Peace. Many men, millions of them, were desperately (b)locked in unemployment. Political and economical chaos reigned in the country. Germany had been fiercly empoverished by the heavy national payments the allied nations had imposed in the Versailles treaty; this had been an unjust arrangement, the world war had not been caused by a single nation.

Adolf Hitler, for his part, had been prepared for his future, for standing up, by his past and his particular fate. Amongst the circumstances, an early childhood where he received lots of praise for his intelligence in the small village school and at home. And a cruel, dire and humiliating traject in his years as a young man. Including a long time in the trenches, where soldiers were frequently under heavy artillery fire; one certain moment, he found himself to be the sole survivor in his unit of the latest canon barrage.

Later, in peace time, he was without job and homeless for about thwo years. Hitler lived for months in a house for the homeless with other poor men. Eventually, Adolf did not indugle in the cheap comforting habits of his room mates; he did not visit prostitutes, he did not take to the bottle. He studied and he gained some money by drawing and selling post cards.

The immense “injustice” that he perceived about his own lot, he coupled to the injustice perceived by the German People about their collective fate. A fierce rancor, a solidified, coagulated rage, was to be the jet motor that would fuel his unseen blitz carrier.

A particularly ill-fated, disapponting carrier it was to be. A historic chapter with he well known apocalyptic end notes. From Stalingrad and Berlin to Nagasaki…

Another levitation shot taken in Posbank nature reserve. Very fun walking around with my sis trying to find a nice place to take these.

“Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.” - Winston Churchill

thikse monastery is the largest such structure in central ladakh. located on a hill slope, its building are arranged in an ascending order of importance and are well spaced, from the foot of the hill housing the dwelling units to the top of the hill enshrining the monasteries and potang (official residence) of the chief lama. the architecture of the monastery strongly resembles the potala palace in lhasa, tibet, the former official seat of the dalai lamas. thus, thikse monastery is also known as 'mini potala'. there is statue of the tibetan protective deity at the entrance at the lowest level. the highest level of the complex has a stupa (chorten).

Borobudur Temple Compounds

This famous Buddhist temple, dating from the 8th and 9th centuries, is located in central Java. It was built in three tiers: a pyramidal base with five concentric square terraces, the trunk of a cone with three circular platforms and, at the top, a monumental stupa. The walls and balustrades are decorated with fine low reliefs, covering a total surface area of 2,500 m2. Around the circular platforms are 72 openwork stupas, each containing a statue of the Buddha. The monument was restored with UNESCO's help in the 1970s.

Borobudur, or Barabudur, is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist Temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. The monument consists of nine stacked platforms, six square and three circular, topped by a central dome. The temple is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. The central dome is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues, each seated inside a perforated stupa.[1] It is the world's largest Buddhist temple,[2][3] as well as one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world.[4]

Built in the 9th century during the reign of the Sailendra Dynasty, the temple was designed in Javanese Buddhist architecture, which blends the Indonesian indigenous cult of ancestor worship and the Buddhist concept of attaining Nirvana.[4] The temple also demonstrates the influences of Gupta art that reflects India's influence on the region, yet there are enough indigenous scenes and elements incorporated to make Borobudur uniquely Indonesian.[5][6] The monument is both a shrine to the Lord Buddha and a place for Buddhist pilgrimage. The journey for pilgrims begins at the base of the monument and follows a path around the monument and ascends to the top through three levels symbolic of Buddhist cosmology: Kāmadhātu (the world of desire), Rupadhatu (the world of forms) and Arupadhatu (the world of formlessness). The monument guides pilgrims through an extensive system of stairways and corridors with 1,460 narrative relief panels on the walls and the balustrades. Borobudur has the largest and most complete ensemble of Buddhist reliefs in the world.[4]

made some changes. Still more to come.

A yard decoration, counter-rotating spinners with leaf blades.

I hadn't seen this memorial statue on a previous visit to this cemetery. It's a striking statue and really beautiful.

It was a foggy day leaving the background sky white as you see it here.
