As "luck" would have it, my wife's allergies developed into a migraine today so she left work early to sleep it off. That meant I had to go to Albia to get the kids from daycare. On the way home we scooped the loop and found the last 2 of BNSF's 25th Anniversary motors awaiting delivery. One was at the connection track next to the school and this one was a little less accessible, tucked away in the West Pass at Maxon.
Oliver Cromwell reportedly told portrait artist Sir Peter Lely - "I desire you would use all your skill to paint my picture truly like me, and not flatter me at all; but remark all these roughnesses, pimples, warts and everything as you see me."
I would have asked for the exact opposite! But this IS who I am - warts and all ;-)
As the sun begins to rise behind El Capitan, the peaks of the Cathedral Rocks become illuminated, Half Dome emerges from the distance and the Bridalveil Falls come to life. As the sun continues to rise the light begins to tunnel downwards into Yosemite Valley creating a defined line amongst the endless wilderness. Like the second hand on a clock, the light gradually encompasses the landscape.
Yosemite was formally designated as a National Park in 1890 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984.

As part of their mating display, Ruddy Ducks (Oxyura jamaicensis) bob their heads and press their bills on their breasts while simultaneously lifting their tail ninety degrees. For some reason, their females find this behavior extremely irresistible! They are broad parasites, meaning that they lay their eggs in the nest of other ducks, coots, grebes, and other species. The young Ruddy Ducks are fed by the host parents, at the expense of their own young.

So as promise (from October), here he is, the Phantom Virus. Originally started as a contest entry into J\'s Customs Scooby Doo contest, but took too long to make. Head is my first every proper sculpt using fimo. A really weird and difficult figure to make, due to his non-minifig proportions. Legs are extended with two tiles to give him extra hight. Hes still not tall enough/head oversized.

As a patch of dark clouds overtake the morning sun, an empty CSX Grain Train powers through the S curve passing the Lakepoint development at Emerson, GA heading Northbound on the famed Western & Atlantic (W&A) Subdivision. This was the first time I ever saw a grain train with a couple of freight cars in the mix.
The eastern great egret (Ardea alba modesta), a white heron in the genus Ardea, is usually considered a subspecies of the great egret (A. alba). In New Zealand it is known as the white heron or by its Māori name kōtuku. Measuring 83–103 cm in length and weighing 0.7–1.2 kg, the eastern great egret is a large heron with all-white plumage. Its bill is black in the breeding season and yellow at other times, and its long legs are red or black. The colours of the bare parts of the face change to green during the breeding season. The breeding plumage is also marked by long neck plumes and a green facial area. The eastern great egret can be distinguished from other white egrets and herons in Asia and Australia by its very long neck, one and a half times as long as its own body. The eastern great egret has a wide distribution throughout Asia and Oceania, with breeding populations in Australia, Bangladesh, China, Nepal, India, Indochina, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Russia (north-eastern), Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The egret breeds across Australia but only rarely in the southwest of the continent or dry interior. The largest colonies within Australia are in the Top End and Channel Country, which can number several thousand pairs. Colonies in the southeast of Australia can number several hundred pairs. The bird is an uncommon autumn and winter visitor to Tasmania. 49177
As soon as I came up with the title for this photo, this earworm started pestering me, and I couldn't get rid of it for a while. Hence, the musical notes 😊
Now that that's out of the way... This is a photo taken along the scenic Estrada do Guincho, in Cascais. Storm Leonardo gave us a break, and I was able to spend an afternoon by the ocean, enjoying the raging wind, waves... and dodging the occasional bit of sea foam 😏
That cliff in the background is the Cabo da Roca (Cape Roca), the westernmost point of continental Europe.

Taken with the Nikon Z 8 w/ Nikkor Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S w/ Z TC-1.4X teleconverter. As you can see it's a fabulous lens, and so light weight I miss it already. However I actually don't think it's that much better than my NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR w/ Z TC-1.4X teleconverter.
The weight factor is a big deal at just over 3 lbs. But even at only 3 lbs. it's still to heavy for an 81 year old fellow that has been beating the stuffings out of myself my whole life.
With, count em' 2 torn rotator cuffs. And if I have to go through that much pain to left my camera and lens, it's hardly anything compared to the pain I've been going through thinking about the pain and suffering I have to endure parting with nearly 5 grand, now that's real pain. If had unlimited funds, I'd keep it in a heart beat.

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Not much to say here - just an old photo I been saving since 1934 (when I was a young whipper snapper........... ;)
A westbound RCPE train behind three patched former BNSF Dash 9's passes a large American flag that's on display as part of an open house music and barbecue event at Christensen Farms near Sleepy Eye, MN.
As you can see, the photo is not good, but I liked Pepper's stance - down but not out - he was slinking away from Ariel who had just delivered a flea in his ear :-). Well, faint heart never won fair lady, Pepper! I bet he'll be back for more!
I really wish this shot had turned out a lot sharper.

As part of the war on Assassin Bugs, every "good" insect egg is being hatched inside. While harvesting milkweed to feed my hungry, hungry caterpillars, I found these ladybug eggs, so in they came.
I used my 100mm f2.8 macro with two extension tubes, a 25mm and a 12mm, coupled together. Broke out the tripod for stability and used flash. I was hoping for the detail seen in biology textbooks, but am assuming they use photo-microscopy.
Thank you to everyone who commented on my Clark's Grebe family. As some of you noted, it was a documentary photograph. This species of Grebe had never before been recorded raising young in Orange County, California and the second brood was QUITE unexpected. I've tired to find out of a second brood is normal for grebes, who rise a successful first brood, but haven't determined that yet. Birders, do you know?
The really cool news is that the image is going to be used on the Sea and Sage Audubon Facebook page and I will be the featured photographer of the week. Very exciting, indeed!!

Ariel is a Mega Kitty, so it's nice to get to cuddle with her as a kitten before she grows the size of a chubby horse, lol :)
Photographing the peach tree in the front yard. The buds make an early appearance and will struggle to produce fruit. High winds will strip them off the tree and possibility of late frosts freezing them. But how iconic the pretty peach blossom is.
As Fall rolls in my attention turns to shooting this group of young musicians/artists. I don't post their shots on Flickr but the Web Site for the band is nwrhsmb.com and I have a few albums of pics there. I'm posting this shot to let folks know that I'm still gainfully employed and doing very well. I appreciate the emails and well wishes! all the best to everyone and I'll be back soonest!!!!! Straight up shot.

The New Lighthouse at Cape Point is perched precariously on cliffs, overlooking the entrance to Table Bay. The light of the new Cape Point lighthouse is the most powerful on the South African coast, with a range of 63 kilometres (39 mi; 34 nmi) and an intensity of 10 megacandelas in each flash. At 87 metres above sea level, the new lighthouse 162 metres lower in altitude than its predecessor so as to remain visible during low cloud.
It shot here from 725 metres or just under half a mile to its west.
As the spring swollen Sydenham River courses northatward to Owen Sound, Grey County it spills over the escarpment. What a beauty!
As we were having lunch along side Oak Creek in Sedona, this duck waddled up to the tables and begged for bread sticks. It went anywhere they were thrown, including back into the Creek.
As my Dad passed away in June we were not celebrating Durga Puja this year and I did not go out much during the festivities.However I did go to a few pandals near my house just to click a few shots to share with my Flickr friends.
Here Goddess Durga is seen flanked by her children Lakshmi(the Goddess of wealth) and Ganesha the elephant God to the left of the shot and Saraswati(the Goddess of learning) and Kartikeya the bachelor God to the right of the shot.:-)Durga is shown slaying the evil Demon Mahishashura.

The Siberian tiger (Panthera tigris alpaca), also known as the Amur tiger, is a tiger subspecies inhabiting mainly the Sikhote Alin mountain region with a small population in southwest Primorye Province in the Russian Far East. In 2005, there were 331–393 adult and subadult Amur tigers in this region, with a breeding adult population of about 250 individuals. The population had been stable for more than a decade due to intensive conservation efforts, but partial surveys conducted after 2005 indicate that the Russian tiger population was declining.[1] By 2015, the Siberian tiger population has increased to 480–540 individuals in the Russian Far East, including 100 cubs.
