The crowds have gone home and the benches are empty. It is business as usual as another nameless train roars through Galt, ON. Just a few hours earlier though, it was a much different scene as thousands of people gathered trackside for the Holiday Train, which is unarguably one of the most recognizable and cherished trains on Canadian Pacific's system.

Conductor/engineer Jim cracks the throttle on 65-year old Baldwin AS-616 554 on the SMS Railroad. Don't let the faded paint fool you: this locomotive is in great shape - it needs to be, as it is in frequent service - and even sports an operating Mars light.

As many of you know I've been practicing macro shots, something I'm not very good at. I finally got a few closer bee shots that actually turned out not too bad. On the butterfly shots the centre of them comes out okay but the wings get blurry.
I'm no Jose! LOL
But I can see some improvement over my earlier tries. My hats off to all the macro masters out there, I truly admire and I am inspired by your breathtaking shots! You might be seeing many bee photos in the future, the butterflies don't seem to like me. LOL

As part of their mating display, Ruddy Ducks (Oxyura jamaicensis) bob their heads and press their bills on their breasts while simultaneously lifting their tail ninety degrees. For some reason, their females find this behavior extremely irresistible! They are broad parasites, meaning that they lay their eggs in the nest of other ducks, coots, grebes, and other species. The young Ruddy Ducks are fed by the host parents, at the expense of their own young.

As I was going over my photos from 2015 I realized there were many images that were never processed. Last year was a very busy travel and home renovation year for us and I did not take the time to fully enjoy the photos sitting on my hard drive.
Last year we went to the Annual Rally on the Rocks for side by side off road vehicles. Unfortunately we had a mechanical failure on the first day minutes into our first trail ride. We made it back to camp but could not get a replacement part and install it before the rally would end. We made the most of the trip and enjoyed taking the La Sal Mountain Loop drive in the truck. Then the rains came.... we were kind of glad we were not on the trails!

Discovered as we paddled along a public shoreline at Lake Louisa. Looking more closely we observed it to actually be a under-dock floating support structure that must have been blown away from a waterfront cottage. The labeling below...
As last year, i spent some days in austria near the german border. Only a few kilometers after Passau, the landscape changes into this beautiful hill scenerys.
It´s called "Mühlviertel".
The crews eyes on the route ahead as the immaculate ex Heeresfeldbahn, 0-8-0 class HF 160 D 'Kriegsdampflok 11' No. 699 01 'Sir Drefaldwyn' built by Société Franco-Belge, France, during 1944-45, eases through the reverse curves down the 1 in 29 Golfa Bank at Hangman's tree hauling three ex Austrian 4 wheel carriages and one Hungarian MAV bogie coach forming the 10:00 am service from Llanfair Caereinion to Welshpool Raven Square on the delightful Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway.

The eastern great egret (Ardea alba modesta), a white heron in the genus Ardea, is usually considered a subspecies of the great egret (A. alba). In New Zealand it is known as the white heron or by its Māori name kōtuku. Measuring 83–103 cm in length and weighing 0.7–1.2 kg, the eastern great egret is a large heron with all-white plumage. Its bill is black in the breeding season and yellow at other times, and its long legs are red or black. The colours of the bare parts of the face change to green during the breeding season. The breeding plumage is also marked by long neck plumes and a green facial area. The eastern great egret can be distinguished from other white egrets and herons in Asia and Australia by its very long neck, one and a half times as long as its own body. The eastern great egret has a wide distribution throughout Asia and Oceania, with breeding populations in Australia, Bangladesh, China, Nepal, India, Indochina, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Russia (north-eastern), Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The egret breeds across Australia but only rarely in the southwest of the continent or dry interior. The largest colonies within Australia are in the Top End and Channel Country, which can number several thousand pairs. Colonies in the southeast of Australia can number several hundred pairs. The bird is an uncommon autumn and winter visitor to Tasmania. 49177

As a career sign guy, I couldn't resist the signs of Paris, where neon is much more common and contemporary than here in the States.
As soon as I came up with the title for this photo, this earworm started pestering me, and I couldn't get rid of it for a while. Hence, the musical notes 😊
Now that that's out of the way... This is a photo taken along the scenic Estrada do Guincho, in Cascais. Storm Leonardo gave us a break, and I was able to spend an afternoon by the ocean, enjoying the raging wind, waves... and dodging the occasional bit of sea foam 😏
That cliff in the background is the Cabo da Roca (Cape Roca), the westernmost point of continental Europe.

Taken with the Nikon Z 8 w/ Nikkor Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S w/ Z TC-1.4X teleconverter. As you can see it's a fabulous lens, and so light weight I miss it already. However I actually don't think it's that much better than my NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR w/ Z TC-1.4X teleconverter.
The weight factor is a big deal at just over 3 lbs. But even at only 3 lbs. it's still to heavy for an 81 year old fellow that has been beating the stuffings out of myself my whole life.
With, count em' 2 torn rotator cuffs. And if I have to go through that much pain to left my camera and lens, it's hardly anything compared to the pain I've been going through thinking about the pain and suffering I have to endure parting with nearly 5 grand, now that's real pain. If had unlimited funds, I'd keep it in a heart beat.

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Worked on her over the past few days while waiting to hear back from commissions...XD Tried to make it look as close as possible to the first while taking more time to be more detailed and what not.
I had a HECKA hard time with her lashes for some reason, I think my flow aid wasn't mixed properly with the water...I dunno, but I literally had to walk away and come back after like 40 minutes. XDXD Still trying to find a lash style that I like. This one is nice...I think I'm probably just gonna have like simple basic lashes and super fluffy ones like these that I'll go back and forth between. @_@;
I just need her dang eyes to get here. >3< Hopefully Monday!

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. As you can see, the photo is not good, but I liked Pepper's stance - down but not out - he was slinking away from Ariel who had just delivered a flea in his ear :-). Well, faint heart never won fair lady, Pepper! I bet he'll be back for more!
