Just as New York has its yellow cabs and London its red buses, Lisbon has its trademark yellow trams – and those serving Route 28 are the most famous of all.
Riding tram 28 has become one of the city’s most popular activities. It’s a 40-minute journey back in time, over hills and through medieval streets, in vintage trams from the 1930s that are still an important part of the city's public transport network.
Line 28 was inaugurated way back in 1914, and all these decades later the service runs every five minutes or so. Queues of tourists form all day to jump on board and see the city from this unique perspective. The energy-clean tram is now an essential part of Lisbon's life, and the city would lose part of its soul without the constant rattling of these charismatic yellow boxes, each of which is built in wood and has a capacity for 20 seated and 38 standing passengers (although many more cram in).

★WHAT IS THE DREAM ROCKET PROJECT?
The Dream Rocket Team is collecting nearly 8,000 artworks from participants around the globe. The artwork will be assembled together to create a massive cover in which will wrap a 37 story Saturn V Moon Rocket at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. We will also be displaying submitted artwork in dozens of national venues prior to the wrapping of the Saturn V. Additionally, we are posting images of submitted artwork & their stories on our Website, Flickr, and Facebook.The Dream Rocket project uses the Saturn V Moon Rocket as a symbolism of universal values of the human spirit. Optimism, hope,
caring for our natural resources, scientific exploration, and harnessing technological advancements for a better quality of life while safeguarding our communities, are all common desires across national and international boundaries. Participants are able to express and learn about these values through this creative collaboration. With the completion of each artwork, participants are asked to write an essay explaining their artwork, and the dream theme in which they chose.
★How can I Participate & Have my Artwork Displayed?
The Dream Rocket project would like to challenge you to ‘Dare to Dream’. To dream about your future and the future of our world through dream themes such as health, community, conservation, science, technology, space, peace, and so on. We would like you to use your selected Dream Theme to express, explore, and create your vision on your section of the wrap. We hope that you are able to express and learn through this creative collaboration. With the completion of each artwork, you are asked to write a brief essay explaining your artwork, and the dream theme in which you chose.

Her tail twitched and her fingers entwined nervously as she looked at me... but in her eyes I could see that she knew.

As I was about to leave the house I had a chance encounter of the feathered kind! I saw two or three wild turkeys so ran to grab the camera. The setting is that it is a very overcast day with light drizzle. Once I got outside and had moved secretly into a somewhat favourable position I now saw that there were more than two or three. That number had grown to twenty individuals, some this year's brood mixed with many adults. Although they were quick to detect my presence they did not immediately fly away.
Among the largest birds in North America. The large-bodied, long-legged and small-headed look of a turkey is distinctive. Appears dark from a distance. Often seen in small groups in open fields near woods. Gobbling often audible in the spring and early summer. They are excellent flyers and roost in trees.

As best I can tell this is a 1946 Ford truck.
Looks like it was used as a farm truck.

A very sad looking AN68 Atlantean, number 468 at Lathalmond and although some restoration work has been done I understand she has already gone to the scrapyard.
This is rather unfortunate as 465, bought by the Tyne and Wear Bus Preservation, has also been used for spare parts.
A sad ending then for another great work horse in Edinburgh, from the mid 1970's to 1992. I can remember when this fleet group was new just shortly after I left school.
As it turned out, -30 degree (°C) weather is not so good for outdoor walking, but quite interesting for the shapes of industrial smoke

As with most 'car guys', I have my favorites...mostly Ford Mustangs but then next best thing is the unusual! Anytime I can find something unique or different or out of the ordinary, my interest is peaked...like when I walked up on this 1966 AMC Rambler Classic 770 Cross Country Station Wagon. There are a multitude of things that make this interesting besides the fact that it is simply a AMC Rambler Classic 770 Cross Country Station Wagon, which I've not seen before. Add in the updated rims, the really cool patina on the body, and the very modern power plant under the hood with the 'hot rod' style exhaust down the sides and you have a very unusual, unique, different, and out of the ordinary vehicle worthy of the time to photograph. I hope you all enjoy as much as I did...
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

In this great solar-system spanning race, the pilots taking part must be both an ace pilot and engineer. A dash through an asteroid field and a race across the planet’s hostile surface to the finish - by any means necessary.

As promised, some more photos of Melissa and Amanda from Sunday. Here are a few more. I wanted to capture how beautiful their relationship is. I have so many more to edit. I think I will do several a night until I have a collection that feels complete. The girls are simply...well...breathtakingly gorgeous.
As the saying goes timing is everything. As I watched this show develop I was hoping for a train before all the color disappeared. Fortunately it all worked as a short train appeared at the right moment.
As for spiritual life: what I object to about “the Spiritual Life” is the fact that it is a part, a section, set off as if it were a whole. It is an aberration to set off our “prayer” etc. from the rest of our existence, as if we were sometimes spiritual, sometimes not. As if we had to resign ourselves to feeling that the unspiritual moments were a dead loss. That is not right at all, and because it is an aberration, it causes an enormous amount of useless suffering.
Our “life in the Spirit” is all-embracing, or should be. First it is the response of faith receiving the word of God, not only as a truth to be believed but as a gift of life to be lived in total submission and pure confidence. . . . From the moment that I obey God in everything, where is my “spiritual life”? It is gone out the window, there is no spiritual life, only God and His word and my total response.
… As for your having defects and still knowing about the life of prayer, well, all I can say is that this is not unusual. I have never met anyone who did not have a lot of defects, and this seems to have relatively little to do with it, provided they are just things in their character which they can’t really help. Such defects are very useful and do a lot for one, if one accepts them rightly. On the other hand there are a lot of defects which we could easily be without if we were not dominated by our environment, and caught as it were in a kind of trap by our own surroundings and our own history. As I knelt low in the field this roe buck looked in my direction but couldn't see me clearly with the result she kept on grazing.
As so often the case at this location, the recently-retreated tide had left these pastel-coloured pebbles lying along the natural depressions in the eroded sandstone pavement. Additional colour here is provided by the algal greens higher up the vertical wall to their rear.
