Superado el ibón de Estanés por la divisoria, se tiene una magnífica panorámica de la puerta de entrada al contiguo valle de Aguas Tuertas. Esta zona de piedras y canchales recibe el nombre de "As Crabetas". El GR-11 no discurre por donde alcanza la vista, sino que va más escondido por la zona sur del ibón.

As I stood in the darker interior of the Sugar Creek Covered Bridge, I couldn't help but imagine horses and buggies crossing it. Only one of five 19th century covered bridges remaining in the State of Illinois, it crosses Sugar Creek southeast of Chatham, Illinois. This shot shows the interior of the structure and reveals the single truss structure. The image was processed in Silver Effex Pro with a yellow cast.

 

According to Wikipedia, "The Burr truss bridge is 110 feet (34 m) long and 30 feet (9.1 m) wide. The bridge was constructed by Thomas Black; sources disagree on the date of construction, placing it at either 1827 or 1880. The State of Illinois acquired the bridge in 1963 and extensively renovated it two years later. The bridge closed to traffic in 1984 and is now part of a local park with a picnic area. It is one of only five historic covered bridges in Illinois and is the oldest of the remaining bridges. The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 9, 1978."

As we drove through the back roads of southern Saskatchewan we saw this tree standing alone against a flat, prairie landscape.

As coming out of a tale of princess and monstrous creatures by the sea, a tower from Dunstanburgh castle rises overlooking at the coast for possible dangers ahead.

The book Matilda is about bright little girl who is very eager to learn. Eventually, her insensitive parents send her to a school run by Miss (The) Trunchbull. She is a cruel authoritarian that loathes children. Matilda befriends her school teacher, Miss Honey.

 

The book was a favourite book read for my children growing up. I too loved the book and many years later I love the musical and I love this song and the lyrics AND I love Tim Minchin.

as you can see, my love affair with this wonderful yellow dory continues...

As far as I know about these two, the right one says "myah" and the left one says "hey, what's going on?"

 

Made these after someone in the chat was talking about Skeletor and using these boots, and I realized the new purple armor would work great for him, but unfortunately, regular hoods do not work great with that armor, and there's not a lot of teal torsos that exist to match the boots. So I made some choices and did some editing, both on the hood (the red one from Miles Morales) and the horns on the staff (originally white). Credit to mostlylegostuff for the staff idea!

Just for information .Cancer, which is Latin for crab, is the dimmest of the 12 constellations of the Zodiac, having only two stars above the fourth magnitude

As our plans were ruined (a visit to Plymouth Hoe) on the weekend due to the weather we decided to take the girls up on to the hoe after school.

Bethany had bought herself some rollerskates with money that she had saved, she wanted to practice skating on the promenade and Imogen wanted to ride on her scooter that she got for Christmas.

When we got on to the hoe we got slightly windswept , we couldn't believe how windy it was, which also meant looking out we could see just how rough the sea still is.

It was a lovely but a very cold hour spent together.

As many of my Flickr friends know, the Chambers Bay Golf Course/Grandview Trail is my most favorite place to take photos. I feel a great sense of peace when I am there and thus the many many shots you have all seen. I hope you all are not becoming too bored with it.....I haven't. The sky's seem to always be different, yet the same.

 

God's Hand is always evident here.

A labor of love with my sister who built Marriage!

 

We decided to go for a well-known story since... really, how is anyone supposed to develop an entire love story in two MOCs? Have you seen how many preludes W. Navarre has been doing?? XD

 

What a neat but challenging scale to try out! Credit to my sis for the basic head design and then we both took it in slightly different directions. I built complete figures so those'll are in the extra pictures on my Insta.

And more angles of Toothless of course. Speaking of Toothless... so, I do like building dragons, but I don't like building them in black. XD However, many groans and a trip to a Bricks & Minfigures store later, it came together... It's about twice as big as my last attempt!

IC 1396/1396A is also known as The Elephant Trunk Nebula, is an area of bright emission and dark nebulae located 2400 light-years away in the constellation of Cepheus.

 

This image results from only 3 hours of narrowband data collected on October 13th - and is the first use of my portable Askar FRA400 platform for travel. It was also the first time I had to do Polar Alignment when I could not see the northern portion of the sky.

 

North Carolina is supposed to have good weather but that was not my experience on this trip. After being there for three weeks, I only had a single evening clear and Moon free so that I could do some exposures!

 

The processing was a bit challenging on this project because of the short integration time and the fact that I ran into some guiding issues that caused elongated stars. But all-in-all, it was a good learning exercise, and despite the problems with collection, I thought the image came out reasonably well.

As viewed from the west southwest at a distance of approximately 32 miles away. At 11,249 ft, it is Oregon's highest mountain peak and the 13th highest peak of the United States. This was taken at Milo Mc Iver State Park which is very near the town of Estacada. (DSC_3908.jpg)

As an empty string waits to back in, a loaded coal train pumps out of the loading area at Sandaoling.

 

Some of the drivers seemed to be putting on quite the show for us and the growing numbers of locals and foreigners coming to witness the last of steam in China. A brief piece in the China Daily online while we were there mentioned the end of steam will come to Sandoling this year.

As all visitors to the Lake District know, Blea Tarn is a magical, tranquil place to sit and enjoy the scenery in an almost total silence.

In January of 1999 in Helper, Utah one would be hard pressed to believe the UP/SP/Rio Grande was one railroad. It surely did not look like anything was a miss in the upper yard in Helper. Oh how I wish this was still true.

As the weather is so grim on the South Coast of the UK today with 80mph winds forecast for tonight I have posted another image taken earlier this month at Langstone Harbour, Hayling Island, Hampshire to brighten the day up!

 

1 second exposure using Lee 0.9 + 0.6 (reversed) ND grad filters.

I always think that when someone is born with the 'creative' gene, it often manifests itself in different fields, not necessarily ONE...

I love being creative in the kitchen, rarely make the same meal twice... just use the ingredients at hand or on offer.

Yes, we DO eat our photographic 'props' LOL, part of the 5 a day meal I made with this!

As you can see it doesn't take much to set up. Just a surface, a light, and some books, and rocks-to hold the camera thing...😁

They don't call dusk the "photographer's golden hour" for nothing. A golden veneer of light is cast across shallow floodwaters that both envelop and reflect all that dared stand in the way.
