After reading a tutorial in the 'Tabletop Photography' group I decided to give this technique of achieving high gloss reflections a try.
I only had a bit of time so I grabbed the nearest thing to hand which happened to be an apple!

Actually it's apple on iPad... Which is now broken... so it's a 600 dollar reflective glass surface... (don't get me started).
I'm still mourning Steve so I forgive them.. I guess.
It took a while, but this year's apple harvest has been safely gathered; One eater and the rest went into tonight's pork and apple casserole.

Apple blossom in May. I am growing three varieties in my Wick garden, in the very north of Scotland.
Not sure I want to do a ABC challenge but these looked too nice not to snap up. The September autumn light was just lovely this afternoon. I am totally in love with the 50mm 1.8 Prime and 450D :-) It caught these colours and the light so much more than my bridge camera would have done. Well worth the wait.

An early cooker that cooks to a pulp. Apple tart season can start a bit early if you have one of these trees. We are going to have a go at early cider this year using this apple, George Cave and crab apples.
I planted this tree as a maiden whip on MM106 in February 2004. It has done well for me although the size of the individual apples it produces has decreased in past 5 or so years.
