Looking Close... on Friday: White and Wonderful

Female Pronghorn and her fawn on a sunny fall afternoon. Changing seasons will soon bring winter weather to Yellowstone National Park, but for now the sun is warm, food is plentiful, and life is good.

I wish you a good start into the week, a successful Monday and stay healthy. Thank you for your visit, a comment is welcome and a star makes me happy.

Dikirion and trikirion were introduced into church use, probably not earlier than the IV-V centuries..Dikiri and trikiri are two hand-shaped figured lamps with cells for two and for three long candles. The illumination of people by the light that marks the Light of Christ and the Holy Trinity gives them special grace and testifies to them about the Divine light coming to people for their enlightenment, purification and sanctification..Photo taken during the consecration of the church in Moscow.

Wonderful light and lines ,with rippled reflections on the water and onto the bows of the boats. The mooring lines pulling tight and in unison, create interesting lines and diagonals inconjunction with the shapes of the boats.

Memories of Copenhagen - a beautiful town I fell in love with ;))

The circular Rundetårn (Rundetaarn / Danish for round tower) is a tower in the centre of Copenhagen, which served as a observatory of the University of Copenhagen until 1861.

It has a diameter of about 15 m and a height of 34.8 m. Apart from the last few metres, it is not climbed by stairs, but by a 209 m long spiral corridor that winds around the centre of the tower in seven and a half full turns.

This equestrian staircase made it possible to deliver books, instruments and the like by horse and carriage.

And it is said that the king he went up there comfortably by carriage, too :)

Macro Mondays - Small and Smaller

The one on the left is a conical spring (3.5cm).....they are basically compression springs coiled in increasing or decreasing outer diameters thus making its shape a cone or tapered one. These springs tend to reduce solid height and provide stability. Conical springs are also known as tapered springs or cone springs.

The smaller one on the right is a helical spring (1.2cm) - these are the most common types of springs in product manufacturing. Wire coiled into a helix shape (hence the name) with different cross-sections can make helical springs.

Leaves and trees, birds and flowers, butterflies, lakes and rivers these are a few of my "favorite things" to photograph!

Since this week the weather doesn't show a sing of improvement in this area of PA, I'm choosing this one that I took last November. I like the shadows and soft tones that the camera captured on this one.

It was early in the morning, and the light was soft and perfect, a little cold but I was wearing warm boots and everything else for the long hike. Canada geese were all over the place, which from time to time surprised me with the noise they make with their wings. Deer also were trying to find something to eat close by. Some leaves were laying on the ground, still frozen before the sun warmed them later that day...

Have a great day everyone:

Photography is my passion, and nature photography is my favorite.

I have been in Explore for more that a hundred times, and it is an awesome experience to have your photos showcased in such a special way.

I'm in many groups, and I only add my photos to them if they are not private.

I thank your for coming today, for leaving a comment, and make a favorite of yours this photo, (if that is the case) thanks again!

The best part of this forum is the contacts and friends that I have made over the years, that have the same passion for this art that is called photography!

Tree and Moon reflection over the Providence river at Conimicut Point Park in Warwick, Rhode Island.

This old bridge was beautiful but difficult to get a shot of. I wanted to make the clutter a part of the picture but there was just so much, and then the harsh sunlight. I had to work a bit to come up with this. I'll be shure to get back to this subject.

I've arranged the set, "The Sketchbook Project 2011" in the order of appearance in the book, random though that may be!

Dark and Stark still bare from winter the trees are reaching for what little sun there is.

I lost count of how many times I chased this feather as it took off in the breeze. Gave me some exercise and tickled me. HMM!

An American Goldfinch (Spinus tristis) leaves a favourite perch.

Danbo was looking for a new home and found it with Mummy Marian. He is very welcome and has made friends with everyone. Fuzzy is very happy that Danbo has come and they have a good conversation. Although.... Danbo reacts a little differently.....

Today Danbo and Fuzzy are going to the sea with Mummy Marian in the camper.

It is a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine.

Arrived at the sea they get food and drink

Fuzzy sandwiches with honey and chocolate milk. Danbo ground copper Meccano screws and sewing machine oil.

Fuzzy tells Danbo that he is from Canada.

FUZZY:

What a beautiful view we have over the sea Danbo

DANBO:

Bleep...bleep

FUZZY:

The sea is so big. Canada is in the distance. In my imagination I can see it. You know Danbo...I miss Canada every now and then.

(Picks away a tear).

DANBO: (understandable look).

Bleep...bleep..bleep.

FUZZY:

I'm happy with you Danbo.

You know...I have a very good friend in Australia...named Bogart.

I ask if he wants to be your friend too.

Do you think that's a good idea?

DANBO:

Bleeeeeeeep!

Most of the people like summer. Me too. More than just like it. Especially in case the summer is warm and beautiful. When it makes you sing and dance.

Not a fresh photo this time. But it represents the summer emotions quite well.

Thank you for all the comments and faves my friends.
