From L to R: Spiderman with carnage symbiote, Clea Strange as Blade, The Cyber Spider, and Black Cat / Silver Sable

A couple of mixed up Spiderman figs I built for a fig-off against Miscellanabuilds. If you'd like to see more of my figures, be sure to let me know!

Feedback is always appreciated,

Happy Building!

"Eagle, Anchor, Globe". USMC. This is a 3/4 inch button from the uniform of Charles E. Fay. He was the father of my spouse, Pam, and served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He passed in 1967 when Pam was a senior in high school. We found the button today when going through the button box of Pam's mother who will celebrate her 99th birthday this weekend. A nice find. Memories.

What if...?

...we travelled back in time with todays understanding of building techniques and made the most of it with the parts availiable back then?

I never understood why TLG went 4 wide with Airplanes since the 80ies town sets. Only in the late 2000's they released (somewhat ill looking huge parts) 6 wide versions.

4 wide Planes are part saving, yes, but make absolutely no sense scale wise, since trains went 6 wide directly from the start. It didnt harmonize well back in the day, since both vehicles are in the same size tier.

So here is my rendition of what a 6 wide ariplane could have looked like in the early 90ies, using only parts of that era (except the large wedge slope element from the arctic sets beneath the windscreen, which would have needed to be more pointy and produced prior to 2000, which would have been possible considering all those large elments from diverse "trons" availiable at the time).

So,TLG could have offered better scaled Airplanes -this 6 wide plane is also a very sturdy build - it probably didnt fit into their tiny town baseplate layouts, so airports would have been hard to include size/ prize wise if you think about the runways...

Ferraris and Porsches everywhere!

Although my interest in Bratz may be declining, I still adore the personalities I created. Thus, I've had them transfer to the Barbie world. It's quite easy to tell who is supposed to be who here. ;)

So...which version of the individual girls do you like more? Bratz Rhi or Barbie Rhi, Bratz Fenia or Barbie Fenia, etc. By the way, in case you're not familiar with the blonde, that's Linae Arden. More on her in a future post.

An alternate view of the rescue move by diesel locomotive 1934 which saved the ailing train pulled by steam locomotive 40. The rebuilt GE diesel is a handy piece of equipment on this short railroad with 4% grades which tests the locomotives on their run.

Macro Mondays theme: Wire

I had some fun winding some thin (22 gauge?) wire around a rod. I wasn't particularly thrilled with any of my resultant shots but this one had some nice highlights.

HMM

This week’s theme for my 52 project is “Minimalism.” I decided to visit the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) to photograph the 2007 renovation. The oldest portion of the ROM was completed in 1912. The museum then had a major expansion in 1931. The newest and most radical renovation was designed by Daniel Libeskind and titled “The Crystal.” The result has been controversial and is generally loved or hated by most people. I think the interior spaces appear to be a second thought in the renovation, but it does have lots of interesting geometry to photograph.

This is one of my alternate shots. This is looking down the staircase.

In one of the sightings that I read before going to Bodega Bay someone mentioned seeing Loons in 'alternate breeding plumage', I can only assume that is what this loon would be considered as I also saw them in full breeding plumage at a distance!

I'm also guessing that both male and female go into full breeding plumage and the plain ones are either juveniles or not breeding adults! Please correct me if I'm wrong! So much to learn!!

Hypnagogic

Hypnopompic

Definition: visual, tactile, auditory experience, a brief dream state or wakeful sensory events that may occur at the transition from wakefulness to sleep (hypnagogic), or from sleep to wakefulness (hypnopompic).

An outtake from October 2016 that I thought fitted nicely in this set.

An Alternate Perspective

Location: Eufaula Street, Fayetteville, TN, USA

Taken during the 7th Annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk on October 11, 2014 in Fayetteville, TN.

I have many photos taken from Riverside towards the railway bridge, none in the other direction. So I thought I'd take the opportunity of a train trip to Scotland in the snow to redress the balance. iPhone shot processed with Snapseed.

I wasn't that happy with my shots of MacIntosh Brook Falls, but after I tried digitally mirroring it I was pleasantly surprised. I like symmetry, which is why I love digital mirroring. I've got a large collection of digitally mirrored photos. (flickr.com/photos/matt_molloy/sets/72157623892837105/) It's also fun to look around and find all the faces, which often pop up in digitally mirrored photos, but more so because of Pareidolia.

Day 145 (v 16.0) - turns out they're twins

© Darlene Bushue - All of my images are protected by copyright and may not be used on any site, blog, or forum without my permission.

Nearing the area of Phantom Lake, we were suddenly stopped in a long line of traffic, which generally means one of two things....an accident happened or there's some very "important" wildlife close by. More often than not, when you're in Yellowstone and traffic is at a dead standstill, you can pretty much bet on there being bison in the road. That is exactly what was going on this particular day, and I'm not sure who's more entertaining, the herds of bison, taking their sweet time, reminding all of us that we are on their territory or watching all the impatient, irritated drivers. Hello people, you are on VACATION, so act like it...not sure why people are always in such a hurry. Needless to say, there is generally some idiot who can't wait any longer, and they move full steam ahead, forcing the bison off the side of the road. The only upside for me is that it gives me the opportunity to capture a few images right outside my window, as I was able to do in this case.

Have a great evening....and thanks for all your visits and comments!!!!!
