Adult Red Knot in breeding plumage - New Jersey, USA

As I’ve mentioned before, I spent a lot of time in 2020 exploring new places in New Jersey to find birds. During the peak of spring shorebird migration, I’ve made few trips all the way down to Delaware Bay to find Red Knots in their full alternate plumage. I can’t wait to come back there again this season

Never stop exploring!!!

Thank you all for kind comments!

I stacked this image with 3 different exposures to improve my dynamic range, combined in Lightroom. Exposure and color contrast adjustments to represent the natural image also in Lightroom. This shot was actually supposed to be of the larger/closer portion of the San Juans to the right. Heavy clouds were covering the peaks unfortunately. Moving around to alter the perspective, we found this peak in the distance "peaking" out of the clouds. Quick change from wide angle to my telephoto and ...BAMM!

Enjoy! I appreciate your comments and CC.

Or should I name it A Filtered World?

If the South were settled first, would the Roseate Spoonbill be the national emblem/bird?

I LIKE IT! reminds me of the injustice harley!

It was another day full of sunshine so after my chores were done I took an alternate route home to enjoy the view of the mountains. You can see Powell River on the right.

Without words across my face.

Can you tell from the image that I'm thinking about how silly I'm feeling. I really wish you guys could see the whole picture. =)

Walking into the center of the White Pocket is like stepping into another world. Incidentally, this shot shows the landmark's namesake; a pocket in this part of the world is a rocky place that holds rainwater puddles.

Here's another detail shot from my Alternate Transportation cyberpunk scene, just showing one of the buildings I made.

Amtrak’s Cardinal #51 glides into downtown Lafayette with one of the craziest lashups this train has ever seen. Leading are two P32-8BWH “Dash 8s” #519 and #512 on the head end, and a F40PH Carbody NPCU #90222 third out. This consist feels like total jump back in time to the 90s where Dash 8/F40 lashups were a common sight as new GE technology was being tested throughout the Amtrak system. This is probably my top catch in my 3.5 year stint in Indiana so far, and without a doubt something that will probably never occur again on Amtrak (9/12/24).

Saturday Self-Challenge:negative or inverted photography

This was probably one of the most interesting challenges for me to date. First challenge was finding the right subject to photograph. The next challenge was to see if it would look good negative. Once I decided what image to use, I found that the contrast and color needed to be increased in order for the details to be seen better. I also applied the urbane effect by PicMonkey to give it a little more depth. I thought the colors were quite striking like this.

Happy Macro Monday !

Macro Monday Theme : Vowel

Yes, I'm aware that I keep alternating between goofy color street photographs and *supposedly* more deliberate b/w stuff...

What if Star Wars was produced earlier than 1999.? For example 1985 - what could the Set Box have looked like?

I made an alternate LOGO for our parallel universe approach. (I do not intend to infringue copyrights)

Angled shot of the diorama.

I still cringe when I think about how I dangled my camera off the side to get this shot....

A little playing around with ICM. I am kind of new to this game and don't have a good sense of the best settings and action to create an interesting image. This is one I'm happy with.

I was on a walk from Mörsch to Durmersheim south of Karlsruhe.

A little of this, a little of that and a lot of surrealism filter ;-)

Happy Slider Sunday!

An alternate version to my Lara portrait from last week with a different bokeh, different pose and a bit more moss.

A dystopian replica of the famous Las Vegas welcome sign is seen in the Area15 parking plaza prior to entering the building. While the real sky wasn't bad, I felt a little more drama was appropriate and so replaced the sky.

Our 1985 trip west found us spending the night in Las Vegas, New Mexico. We were headed for Abo Canyon the next day, and we hoped to get a train on Glorietta Pass. In the morning, we heard a westbound train, which would be our “meal ticket” to Albuquerque. When we caught the train at Ribera, we couldn’t have had better luck than to find one of the Santa Fe’s rebuilt ex-Amtrak SDP40F’s leading the train.
