Each year the World Trade Center lights come on for a few days in remembrance of 9/11. The lights are eerie yet comforting and the entire area (just for those few days) is just a tad bit quieter than usual. Like a moth drawn to the flame so do these lights attract bugs, birds (b/c of the bugs) and of course tourists and photographers. One of the challenges is framing. You can always take photos of the lights from far away on the backdrop of the cityscape. As you get closer framing disappears. It took me awhile but I was able to find an interesting polygon formed by surrounding buildings to frame the lights.

We spotted this object early morning on Jan 08th 2018 just north of Karthoum Sudan, from an altitude of 35000 feet. Quite possibly part of Falcon 9 rocket that launched the controversial Zuma satellite. www.space.com/39338-spacex-zuma-rocket-sky-spiral-photos....

Yes, I photographed a wedding at 9 months pregnant (36.5 weeks)! Here's a cute picture my husband grabbed of me holding all my gear as we headed over to do family portraits after the couple's ceremony. Yes, I am a trooper!!!
Taken with the 35L so I was pretty close to him. He didn't give a damn. Just flicked his cigarette and continued reading.

Seen in Berwick upon Tweed in September 1987 is Northumbria 650 (D631BPL), A Duple Dominant bodied Dennis Lancet built as Demonstrator for Dennis and which had carried Northumbria livery (albeit initially unbranded) from new.
On Wednesday, I visited the 9/11 Memorial. Being there felt so sad, so weird, so unable to be put into words. It's so hard to describe the feeling as you stand in front of the waterfalls in the tower footprints. Standing in front of them for the first time took my breath away and gave me goosebumps.
I watched many of those who lost someone make a rubbing of that person's name on a strip of paper using crayons. I think for many, this is so very important. It's the first *thing* that they've been able to hold and take with them, and sort of connect them to what happened that day. It's an entire lifetime of memories of that person etched in letters. Something that they can keep forever.
