Week 9: Theme: Music
As all my music is in the form of mp3's and I dont play any instruments I struggled to be inspired.. So again we turn to Sam for some ideas.

Palomar 9 (NGC 6717, Collinder 395 and others) is a Shapley-Sawyer class VIII (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shapley%E2%80%93Sawyer_Concentratio...) globular cluster located approximately 23,000 light-years away in Sagittarius. At approximately 8.4 magnitude, this is probably the easiest Palomar globular to see although it is located right below the bright star 35 Sgr (HIP 92845, SOA 187445 and others).
Luminance – 12x600s – 120 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2
240 minutes total exposure – 4 hours
Imaged July 11th and August 23rd, 2016 from Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
my girl has been through the ringer this february......first strep, then flu (the real flu, not the stomach flu) and then pneumonia. she spent her birthday getting x-rays and we had to postpone the birthday plans.
she is FINALLY on the mend and back to herself, minus a nasty cough that will hang on a bit.
in the middle of it all, she turned 10. double digits. wowza.

1960`s Kiev/contax RF lens/aperture block in a 1983 M42 version.The lens blocks are interchangeable, with just an extra shim in the newer version. I couldn`t save the original mount/focusing block. The older lens has more yellow tint, good for these kind of shots.
Nine is considered a good number in Chinese culture because it sounds the same as the word "longlasting". The Japanese consider 9 to be unlucky because it sounds similar to the Japanese word for "pain" or "distress".
A polygon with nine sides is called a nonagon or enneagon.
Day 9. Today was hard, not because the photo of the day was hard (though I had a hard time finding inspiration), but because the day was emotionally hard. It kinda sucks when you fight with the people you love. You’re supposed to make each other happy, not angry, or sad. When the distance between people is so large and schedules don’t match, it is easy for misunderstandings to come up. Misunderstandings can escalate until you end up saying not-so-kind things to them. Or just blaming them for whatever the problem is. I never thought it would hit me so hard. I thought I had come up with countermeasures, ways of doing things differently so distance wasn’t so hard for us to cope with. It is quite obviously not working, and, well, that sucks. We’ll probably be okay. Still, I spent a crappy night, woke up angry and sad. Woke up late, too, so I’m just now publishing. Today’s probably gonna be a better day, though. Luckily for me “woke up angry and sad” is nothing that a nice cup of coffee can’t fix in the morning :)

Today’s setup was quite simple. I used a Neweer VK 750-II at 1/64th power at 60cm away from the subject, at a 45º angle, camera right. That’s all
This was taken with the very unappreciated Yashica Yashinon DS 50mm 1.9 lens. It is the most honest lens I have, the cheapest and possibly the best. It will always make magic if I do my job.
We spotted this object early morning on Jan 08th 2018 just north of Karthoum Sudan, from an altitude of 35000 feet. Quite possibly part of Falcon 9 rocket that launched the controversial Zuma satellite. www.space.com/39338-spacex-zuma-rocket-sky-spiral-photos....
