I was held at the signal here for about ten minutes as we were running ahead of schedule.
This was diverted KX to Aberdeen service.
I was the driver from Newcastle to Carlisle then from Edinburgh to Aberdeen.
2019 was also the final year of diverted East Coast HST services via the Tyne Valley Route.
They were a pleasure to drive and I genuinely miss working on them. They may have been forty years old, however in my opinion, a superior train type to what replaced them in so many ways. Sir Kenneth Grange designed a true icon in the 1970's.
All told it's definitely Olympus OM and Canon FD camera systems where I've accumulated the most gear. But around 2015 I got a little crazy on eBay scooping up a few other cameras and lenses that seemed like undervalued bargains.
The XG series gets a lot of flak as a cost-cutting exercise (there is no manual metering mode!) But this little guy is rather growing on me. Yes its shutter is battery-dependent, but it's got nice viewfinder readouts, well positioned for my left-eyed shooting. Its conductive shutter button activates the meter LEDs without needing a half-press (which I always seem to blow past and accidentally waste a frame). And Minolta MD mount (like FD) has a shorter flange distance which limited those lenses' adaptability to DSLRs, so you could find some bargains before mirrorless ILCs became popular.
