A long exposure of a moving ferris wheel.

I just started using Google+ and its a great place to show your work and find great photographers, here's an invite.

About the Photo

*Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS *Lens: EF-S 18-55mm ƒ/3.5-5.6 IS *Shutter Speed: 20.0 Sec. *Aperture Value: ƒ/22.0 *ISO: 100 *Focal Length: 18mm (28.8mm Equivalent in 35mm Film)

I shot this on a tripod, using a polarizing filter to make the sky a darker blue to contrast the bright lights, and a 2 Sec. selftimer. I like the diffraction stars created by the small aperture that I used.

I opened the RAW file in ACR and used a new preset I made to give an image a slight HDR feel by increasing the contrast and recovering the highlights and adding detail to the shadows. Pretty well it increases the fill light and recovery sliders, then compensates for lack of contrast by increasing the blacks. The detail is added by the clarity slider and the tone curve is manipulated to tune the global contrast of the image. Since I agressively increased the contrast of the image I decreased the saturation and increased the vibrance to compensate and tweaked each colour's hue to make them look the way I wanted.

I opened the RAW file in CS4 and blended it using luminousity blending mode with another layer that didn't have the ACR adjustments that I had done, I lowered the layer's opacity to control the HDR-like effects to the image and removed some of the annoying halos around the shadow areas. I used the patch tool to remove a large pole to the left of the frame and finished it off with the cloning tool. I cropped the bottom of the frame slightly to remove a boring portion of the image. At the end I saved a 16 bit TIFF file, converted to sRGB colourspace and saved as a JPEG to upload to the internet.

I took this shot during the channel boat parade that the city of Amsterdam organized for the Dutch (orange) soccer team for reaching the second place at the Fifa World Cup 2010. It was an amazing party and I had a lot of fun. This shot was taken just before the boat with the players arrived and as you can see the people where ready for them. Oranje boven!!!!! We didn’t win the gold against Spain so we have to make doe with silver and I’m very happy with this result. I’ll be in Amsterdam tomorrow when the Dutch (orange) soccer players take the channel Crouse trough the waters of Amsterdam. Hope we’ll have as big a party as we had in 1988 (that’s when we won the European Cup)

Does the bee care what happens

After it had its fill of the flower…...

Am I the wasted flower and

you the bee….

Be careful,dear

Love is a double edged sword,

It can pierce with love

or it can enter with hate.

You heard the words often

“Hell hath no fury like a women scorned’

hear the words now…

“Revenge has no face like the women deceived”

Think well Dear, Think twice

it is your life in the making…

Lest you have to look over

your shoulder again and once more.

On the way to town today, i saw a potential stunning sunset were about to start i had to find a nearest spot to capture it. I just can't resist the colors :P. Yeah, i always bring my camera and tripod :D

Happy watching WC final!! one more match, no more lack of sleep after tomorrow :P

Hello everyone!

Here is one from last summer. Lately I've been shooting everything in HDR and felt like I wanted to step away from that for a minute. I shot this photo about 15 minutes after sunset from the Fort Point National Historic Site. I was there for the full sunset and was shooting off multiple bracketed exposures. As things died down and I was getting ready to leave I decided to capture a few non- bracketed photos.

This one is my favorite of the series. For the most part it's SOOC... I say "for the most part" because I adjusted the clarity and contrast. I also leveled the horizon and gave a small crop.

For more info on Fort Point:

Fort Point is located at the southern side of the Golden Gate at the entrance to San Francisco Bay. This fort was completed just before the American Civil War, to defend San Francisco Bay against hostile warships. The fort is now protected as Fort Point National Historic Site, a United States National Historic Site administered by the National Park Service as a unit of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

WINNER in the week CONTEST in group VIVO POR LA FOTOGRAFIA

(31th week of 2010)

I would like to dedicate this picture to my brother Jesús on his birthday.

Also, today for the first time "La Roja" plays the final of FIFA World Cup

Tower Belfry; Declared Well of Cultural Interest in 2003. It is the unique thing that remains of the previous Gothic - Mudejar factory of the temple (14th century). Placed to the feet of the temple, stands out your solidity and defensive structure especially in your last body, which remains finished off for Matacanes. Maybe this defensive functionality was what it her saved from the destructive pickax. Of floor octogonal and constructed in Gothic style in the 14th century, it is dated in 1375, at the same time as the king of Aragon was choosing to reconstruct the walls of the city that habian been destroyed by the Castilian king. For your interior it traverses a stairs of snail. It has a height of 38 meters and a whole of 152 steps.

Body consists of four separated by fascias. The room lodges the body of bells and on the same one the terrace protected by a line stays of matacanes.

The body of bells opens itself on the outside for the vain one of average arch point, one for side. The rest of three remaining low bodies stand out for the absence of vain. For your structure and solidity maybe murado of the city could have formed a part of the defensive set.

The bells go for names: Ángeles (1881), Rosario (Gothic), Maria de los Ángeles (1691) and Valera (1881).

The entry to the tower is realized by a door placed inside the church, to your feet.

Close to the ship of the epistle, we find a capilla, which actually is an independent church only that joined the parochial church. She is the former parish of St Martin and Holy Catalina of Alexandria and today chapel of the Immaculate Concepcion. It has entered the interior of the church and door on the outside.

Nikon vs Canon | View On Black

I'm not particularly fond of taking pictures of my gear. They're boring and meant to be used as tools to produce the images that we all appreciate.

My kid brother and I were busy preparing for the stunt ride event at Reno and had all our gears laid out on the floor. I was looking at the mess on the floor and It hit me, I was seeing the ultimate rivalry between us both -- Canon vs Nikon! So... I convinced him (more like pestered) to setup his studio lighting. After some cajoling, he agreed to do it. Of course, he was complaining and murmuring while doing the setup. I was helping him out, but in the back of my head I was laughing, having the sense of satisfaction that I was emerging as the winner between us "rivals" -- that was the evil me.

Who do you think is the winner?

OH! I would like to remind everyone that having the best gear does not make you a photographer. It's the artistic eye behind the lens that matters. :)

Somebody once told me that EOS stands for Every Other Shot (no offense, pun intended). :p

Bjarnarflag Geothermal Power Plant just at midnight. We were going out the Myvatn Natural Baths, and we saw the light of the Midnight Sun.

It was the only time I forgot the camera at our place, so I had to drive all the way to Skutustadir and then, come back.

The Power Plant is such a strange place, with chimneys and steam vents everywhere. The ground is burning. The light at midnight made this place much more surreal, like a base on Mars...so I decided to shoot at a very long exposure speed, like 6 minutes. The steam and reflections of the sky in the small Blue Lagoon lake made it.

Bjarnarflag, Myvatn area, Iceland.

Here you have another image of my bike journey which was very productive as you see. Although a storm threatened, these beautiful clouds unloaded before reaching where I was.

One of our tours in Northern Spain along the Atlantic Coast ended in the aquarium Donostia-San Sebastián. I haven't been in an aquarium for some years.

There are a number of tropical aquariums, an oceanarium, a Caribbean reef with toxic fishes. Exciting was to be inside the Ocean (see in my comment) ... a huge tank with a multitude of marine life species - which can be seen from inside an acrylic tunnel . Going through it you can see for example shark, ray or eel next to you and above you. The visit was worthwhile and very attractive!

I don't like all photos I've taken because it was really dark for my little Canon. I want to show you those from which I hope you like them ;-).

Starfish or sea stars are echinoderms belonging to the class Asteroidea. The names "starfish" and "sea star" essentially refer to members of the Class Asteroidea. However, common usage frequently finds "starfish" and "sea star" also applied to ophiuroids which are correctly referred to as "brittle stars" or "basket stars".

There are 2,000 living species of starfish that occur in all the world's oceans, including the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian as well as in the Arctic and the Southern Ocean (i.e., Antarctic) regions. Starfish occur across a broad depth range from the intertidal to abyssal depths (>6000 m).

Starfish are among the most familiar of marine animals and possess a number of widely known traits, such as regeneration and feeding on mussels. Starfish possess a wide diversity of body forms and feeding methods. The extent that Asteroidea can regenerate varies with individual species. Broadly speaking, starfish are opportunistic feeders, with several species having specialized feeding behavior, including suspension feeding and specialized predation on specific prey.

The Asteroidea occupy several important roles throughout ecology and biology. Sea stars, such as the Ochre sea star (Pisaster ochraceus) have become widely known as the example of the keystone species concept in ecology. The tropical Crown of Thorns starfish (Acanthaster planci) are voracious predators of coral throughout the Indo-Pacific region. Other starfish, such as members of the Asterinidae are frequently used in developmental biology. .... read more Starfish - en.wikipedia

So I brought my red cafe chair to the beach recently as a prop for my friends to use (as well as myself as you can see). We are all Flickr addicts so it was very natural. What ensued can only be described as hilarious with me nearly wetting my pants trying to stay on that chair as the waves rolled in...the chair kept sinking in the sand as well. I have always wanted to learn to surf so here is my ode to surfing. It is probably as close as I will ever get. HBM! HOBM!

i've been to Vegas a few dozen times, the first trip occurring when i was 19 years old with a fake ID that worked flawlessly everywhere until i became legal at 21.

A few days before my then-boyfriend gave me a few tips on how to play blackjack and then suggested that i mostly hang back a bit and observe him and all the friends we went with before i jumped in. if i tried to play too quickly, he told me, i'd probably blow right through the few hundred dollars i had brought in no time.

so, that's what i did. i observed quietly from the sidelines - for about 10 minutes. patience is not my strong suit.

I sat down at the table and the boyfriend looked at me, slightly alarmed but resigned with a little head shake and a laugh. caution is not my strong suit either. or listening to reason when reason threatens to ruin my fun.

two hours later, my two hundred dollars had doubled. and by the time we all headed back home to LA a few days later i had about $1500 in my pocket.

I’ve never once come back from Vegas down. I don’t know why but I have crazy good luck each and every time.

Handling

The car's suspension will feature double wishbones at the front and a multi-link set-up at the rear, coupled with E-Diff and F1-Trac traction control systems, designed to improve the car's cornering and longitudinal acceleration by 32% compared to its predecessors.[4]

The brakes include a prefill function whereby the pistons in the calipers move the pads into contact with the discs on lift off to minimise delay in the brakes being applied.[2] This combined with the ABS has reduced 100–0 km/h (62-0 mph) braking distance to 32.5 metres (107 ft).[6]

Wil Bloodworth and yours truly got up at 4:00 a.m. last Thursday morning and headed off to Oxbow Bend from downtown Jackson, Wyoming.

That early morning wakeup call was well worth it when we arrived and found almost perfect conditions - great light, great color in the sky, and even some striated clouds that added another twist to the scene.

I've photographed this location several dozen times and conditions were as good as I can ever recall on that chilly June morning last week....
