a few months after the start of the full scale Russian invasion in Ukraine this aircraft operated 2 flights, respectively in April and May picking up all Russian Diplomats out of Belgium and the EU as a direct consequence of breaking all diplomatic lines.

Due to severe overflight restrictions (basically only allowing it to fly over international waters and the country of final destination) this flight from Moscow took over 6,5h flying one way , flying from the east of the baltic states around finland and scandinavia, over the north sea to enter Belgium via the coast which is absolutely not the usual route.

This yacht has been parked in the same spot since at least 2005, although the mast has been unstepped since then. It's not clear if it's a very slow restoration or if it's been abandoned.

Just returned from my first visit to Fiji, where my family and I enjoyed a couple of pretty gorgeous sunsets, including this one near where we stayed on Malolo Lailai island.

Many thanks for looking, faves and comments :)

Because it occurred to me that it's a long time since I had a picture of me in me compact little kitchen.

Just yesterday I found out about this curiosity. Scientists estimate that in the early days of life on Earth the day lasted only about 6 hours. Today we know that every year the day lengthens by 2 microseconds. But there is no need to worry. In 100 years, a day will be about 2 milliseconds longer than today, that is, 1/500 of a second, much less than the duration of a blink!

The Serra dos Órgãos National Park is the third oldest park in the country, representing an important milestone in the history of Brazilian Conservation Units. It was created during the Getúlio Vargas government on November 30, 1939. It currently has an approximate area of 20,024 hectares in the municipalities of Teresópolis, Petrópolis, Magé and Guapimirim.

It is one of the best places in the country to practice mountain sports, such as climbing, hiking, abseiling and others; besides having fantastic waterfalls. The Park has the largest network of trails in Brazil. There are more than 200 km / 124 miles of trails at all levels of difficulty: from the suspended trail, accessible to wheelchair users, to the heavy Petrópolis-Teresópolis crossing, with 30 km / 19 miles of ascents and descents through the high part of the mountains.

Among the climbs, the peak of God's Finger stands out, considered the starting point of climbing in Brazil, and God's Finger, chosen as one of the 15 best rock climbs in the world.

Selection of mountains and presenting other peaks besides God's Finger which is the most famous and known worldwide, get ready to know the other peaks such as: Devil's Needle, São João Hill, Santo Antônio Hill, Fish Head, Our Lady's Finger, Escalavrado (where I'm on the video), Friar's Crown, Friar's Wart, Carboy, Castles of Açu and Bell Stone.

Trying to catch up my delay ... (which is still very big) ... but I need to post a new photo from time to time ...

Thank you in advance for all your faves and comments. I might answer several WEEKS/MONTHS later. And I might post several photos in the meantime.

BRAIES LAKE/PRAGSER WILDSEE photographed from the Southern shore. Also called the "Pearl of the Dolomites", it is one of the most beautiful and best-known lakes in the Pale Mountains. UNESCO, Braies Valley, Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park, Trentino-Alto Adige/South Tyrol, ITALY.

TRAPPIST-1 b lacked atmosphere. TRAPPIST-1 c? Much the same.

Though thought to be similar to Venus both in size and amount of radiation from its star, Webb found that TRAPPIST-1 c lacks Venus’s thick carbon dioxide-rich atmosphere. If there is an atmosphere, it’s very thin.

A refresher: TRAPPIST-1 c is the second planet from its star, the M dwarf TRAPPIST-1. M dwarf stars are intriguing because they are 10 times as common and two times more likely to have rocky planets than stars like our Sun. TRAPPIST-1 has seven!

Young M dwarf stars are energetic, emitting X-ray and UV radiation that can strip young planetary atmospheres away. It’s unknown if systems like these had enough water, carbon dioxide, or other ingredients to make atmospheres when the planets formed.

Webb is so sensitive that it can search for elements and molecules like oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide in exoplanet atmospheres. The mystery remains — can planets orbiting small M dwarfs sustain the atmospheres needed to support life as we know it? Get the full report: www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2023/webb-rules-out-thick-ca...

This image: This light curve shows the change in brightness of the TRAPPIST-1 system as the second planet, TRAPPIST-1 c, moves behind the star. This phenomenon is known as a secondary eclipse. Astronomers used Webb’s Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI) to measure the brightness of mid-infrared light. When the planet is beside the star, the light emitted by both the star and the dayside of the planet reach the telescope, and the system appears brighter. When the planet is behind the star, the light emitted by the planet is blocked and only the starlight reaches the telescope, causing the apparent brightness to decrease.

Image description: Infographic titled “Rocky Exoplanet TRAPPIST-1 c Secondary Eclipse Light Curve, MIRI Time-Series Photometry (F1500W).” At the top of the infographic is a diagram showing a planet moving behind its star (a secondary eclipse). Below the diagram is a graph showing the change in brightness of 15-micron light emitted by the star-planet system over the course of nearly 2 hours. The diagram and graph are aligned vertically to show the relationship between the geometry of the star-planet system as the planet orbits, and the measurements on the graph. The infographic shows that the brightness of the system decreases slightly as the planet moves behind the star.
