I do not think I have ever paid attention to the fact that turtles have nostrils before I took some close-up images of turtles sunbathing near a pond at the San Diego State University campus. 😂

There was tiny avalanches rolling down the side of this mountain and the rangers were doing avalanche control that day.... I managed to get some cool shots of that. Straight from the Canon 40D with some sharpness added.

The Hillman Imp and variants were a compact, rear-engined car. Variations included the upmarket Singer Chamois, and Sunbeam Sport. Fastback versions were the Hillman Imp Californian, Singer Chamois and Sunbeam Stiletto.
The high performance Sunbeam Sport was introduced in 1966 with twin side-draught Strombergs replacing the single Solex, a higher lift camshaft, bigger valves and improved cylinder head, power up from 42hp to 55hp. It was identifiable by different badging, chrome trim and a slatted engine cover.
In 1967, the Stiletto was launched. It mated the Hillman Imp Californian coupe bodyshell to the Sport engine, identified by its quad headlights.
The Hillman Imp was assembled by Chrysler Australia from 1964-67, and by Todd Motors in NZ from 1967-70.
Engine; Aluminium 875cc rear mounted on 45 degrees.

heading back home shortly after a wonderful little break in Malta, so looking forward to getting back to myself fully, although as you can guess I was never that far away.
Well it's March so whoop de doo 😂 currently still feels like January so no sign of Spring just yet unfortunately. I was torn about what photo to go with for the first of usual monthly check-ins, as although I love this dress (which I'd had my eye on for a while) I took some real nice ones last weekend in something else, which I likely prefer. Anyway those can be seen over on my Instagram account (plus loads of other stuff not posted on here) along with more of this particular outfit too. I'm also far more active over there (and a little bit more responsive to messages too) as other than the odd post I'm not really around much on here.
Roll on summer!
Perhaps not getting the same levels of attention as the steam locomotives, the oldest working diesel-electric loco in the world, No.2 shunts the yard at Marley Hill
Number 2 (Armstrong Whitworth D22 of 1933) is one of a batch of six 100hp locomotives built by Armstrong Whitworth in 1933. Two are preserved at Tanfield and the best know example operated on the North Sunderland Railway which linked Chathill on the ECML and Seahouses on the Northumberland coast.
Having just hit a large pot hole on my way to work I stopped to check my tyres by pulling across a large driveway. On the verge to the right I noticed some gorgeous snowdrops - the first I've seen this year.
Of course I couldn't resist grabbing my camera and crouching down to get a few shots for the 366. I jumped out of my skin as a furious voice yelled "What the hell do you think you're doing?!"
The rather ferocious owner of the house thought I had a trowel rather than a camera in hand and was understandably furious! Once I turned round with my camera and explained, she dashed through the huge iron gates and came back with a large clump of snowdrops for my own garden - a kind gesture and a quick turnaround of events!
