12:52 Looking back on 2017 ... Nature up close.
22_100 X Flowers
Was there ever a more aptly named plant?
Essentially SOOC ... just some tweaking of highlights and shadow, colours untouched.
18:12 Hidden Treasures
What a special day we spent today with the FFF+ in Blackwood, Victoria (Australia). Not as much Autumn colour as we'd hoped for but well and truly made up for by the lovely company. Wonderful to meet some more members of the Flickr Family. (www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/with/40788927473/ & www.flickr.com/photos/dmunro100/ )
Flickr friends, busyness and travel is limiting my time here. I’ll be on and off for the next while and visiting your streams when I can.
12:52 vintage
12:52 still-life (with added cat). Cooper channeling Courtney Love.
Having a very busy week but hope to catch up with your streams soon!
My final photo for October 2017: A month in 31 pictures. Great to see all your photos again this year...may see some of you in April to start all over again!
Also #43 in the weekly challenge - Opposites – Interpret this one however you like.
I had a few ideas for this one but I've been trying to find the time to put them in place. In the end this was a bit of a rushed job as the light was fading fast. Much as I love autumn, I already long for lighter evenings.
Interestingly Flickr has tagged this as animal and cat!
18/52: The weekly challenge - Bokeh – We all know what that is. Use it as the main subject of the image.
I took this photo whilst walking across a bridge to The Church of The Good Shepherd in Tekapo, New Zealand (the previous photo in my photostream). The sun was reflecting on the water making tiny sparkling bokeh jewels.

There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature ~ Rachel Carson
11:52 St. Patrick’s Day
Green is a cool, calm, and refreshing colour. To the human eye there is no colour so grateful as green, being a temperate and retiring, as well as a most beautiful and cheerful colour. ~W.J. & G.A. Audsley, Taste versus Fashionable Colours: A Manual for Ladies on Colour in Dress, 1863
First American Goldfinch of the year in my neighbour’s yard. 2 weeks late but better late than never.
22:52 Spring has sprung
What I always sing in my head when I see one:
25:52 dusk or dawn
Dawn comes very early this time of year and I’m in bed by the time the sun sets....plus I’ve barely been home all June so am hitting the archives for this theme. An alternative view in the comments.
9:52 Metal
No time or inspiration for this week's challenge so I mined the archives. Moorea, French Polynesia.
Macro Monday - Bread
34/52: The 52 week challenge - Food – Take your food photography to the next level…or if you haven’t shot food before – It’s not lunch, it’s art!
Doubling up this week as I am falling behind again.
HMM
And my first sighting of a Ferruginous Hawk. We were lucky to see 2 pairs of this endangered species. They are huge, strikingly beautiful and deserved of their Latin name - Buteo Regalis
13:52 Negative Space
44:52: Minis
This very expressive wee cat was an unexpected and delightful gift from Flickr friend mags : )
18:52 Bokeh - we all know what that is. Use it as the main subject of the image.
Best viewed with your eyes squinted (?).

27/52: Movement - If you look closely you will see the ghostly figures of moving people in this LE of the Montreal Big Wheel (La Grande roue de Montreal) I have another pic that I took for movement and this was just going to be for the 365 but I don't like to post too many pics when I am unable to spend the time commenting so thought this would cover it as the people were moving.
29:52 Collaboration - It doesn't matter what you shoot - anything you like. But you will send your unedited image to another person in the group to do the processing.
I had a very lovely image provided by Kelley Cheung to work with, thank you, Kelley! Do you know what the flower is?
7:52 Shadows
Find beauty not only in the thing itself but in the pattern of the shadows, the light and dark which that thing provides ~Junichiro Tanizaki
13/52: The 52 week challenge - Shiny
Shiny glass in the building behind the gull. Taken during my recent trip to Liverpool. The title came from a 1970's sitcom called The Liver Birds.
Also for Window Wednesday. HWW
"I felt my lungs inflate with the onrush of scenery—air, mountains, trees, people. I thought, 'This is what it is to be happy.'" ~Sylvia Plath
25/52: The 52 week challenge - A Tree – Some of the most famous landscapes in the world feature a tree.
52 week challenge - favourite nook or cranny. Current favourite spot in between violent thunderstorms.
.
32/52: The weekly challenge - Architecture – photograph an entire building that you really like, or get in very close and shoot the details.
Since I've had a very busy time lately I thought I'd use this one of The Sydney Opera House, from my trip. A daytime LE using ND filter.
Also #69 in my 100 x challenge - Photos from my travels
32:52 Memories
The last couple of days I've managed to make time to edit some of the thousands of images from our June West Coast trip which I was privileged to share with 10 amazing Flickr friends. One of my strongest memories is of several of us wandering around this beautiful beach behind our holiday home, contorting ourselves into some frankly freaky positions, thrilling at all the treasures found there, and smiling, lots of smiling and laughing with the sheer joy of it all. These are my people I thought to myself. Love you all.
31/52: The weekly challenge - Landscape
Another LE from the beautiful Lake Minnewanka. Taken during our stay in Banff. Such a beautiful, unspoiled place.
27/52: The 52 week challenge - Go into your archive and find an orphaned photo as an inspiration for a new photo – have it feed your consciousness, to inspire a newer – and better – version.
Well this was tough as I rarely keep images I am not using. So I went back to an image I used previously (in comments) and re-edited it. Hope this fits the bill.
I'm not going to be around much for the next couple of days, will catch up as soon as I can.
16/52: The weekly/monthly challenge - A fence for Friday
This is Chester city wall. We visited Chester in January...it seems years ago now as so much has happened since then to change all of our lives. We couldn't get round the wall completely as a few parts were closed for repair. I added a texture to add to the ageing effect. HFF and have a safe and enjoyable weekend...at home :)

21/30 - April 2018: A month in 30 pictures
#26 in my 100 x challenge - monochrome
17/52: The weekly challenge - In my back yard
I was at work today, having been persuaded to go back for a couple of days this week, when I got home I was tired and had no idea what to take a photo of. So I took my macro lens into the garden, it was too windy to get a shot of a plant but we had just had a rain shower and there were drops on the barbecue cover. I made a few adjustments and changed the colour in PS.
Also for Sliders Sunday HSS
In a bid to catch up I'm hitting weeks 13 (feathers) and 14 (reflections) of the 52 week challenge with an archive shot. There are green shoots in my garden and yesterday I saw my first bluebird of the season - Spring!
week 37
Dogwood 52 week photography challenge

despite wearing no clothes, the great blue heron always manages to look very fashionable =)
8:52 Beating the February blahs...
We don't really suffer from the February blahs here. Well unless we are struggling with a long hot summer ... and when that happens we head to the beach :)
76/365: Well, you have to make the most of a prop...don't you? I certainly intend to make the most of these dying tulips so I'm pretty sure you will be seeing more of them.
12/52: The weekly challenge - Vintage - Shoot something that could look like it's old, and in post processing, edit it to make it look vintage. The bottles are vintage so I hope that's not cheating...I used an edit to make the whole thing look vintage.
Ooops, I may have posted this to the group a little early...most unlike me but I hope you lovely ladies don't mind...I'm sure I'll be back to being behind with everything soon! ;)
