“God will reward you,' he said. 'You must be an angel since you care for flowers.”

My sincere thanks to all flickrites old and new who regularly look in and take the time to view and comment on my photostream.

My Open House day was severely limited due to train cancellations, and in the end this was the only above-ground structure I visited. Still a fascinating building, and in some ways reminiscent of the Lloyd's building - also designed by Richard Rogers.
I'm really enjoying seeing what everyone else came up with on Open House, and am already building a wish list for next year!
Dawn on the desert - the 4 degree temps and that heavy westerly wind makes this spot west of Antonito just rather chilly at sunrise as Rio Grande class K36 489 heads west with a flanger / plow train - March 6, 2015.

#4 in my fireplace soda pop collection. All these bottles have the original soda in them. The old Hires Rootbeer made with glass so thick the bottle was almost impossible to break. Only 8OZ but the bottle made it look like there was much more. The Coke bottle with the "75" on it is a commemorative bottle from 1980, next is a thick glass 6OZ Coke bottle you used to buy in the coke machines for a dime, late 1960's/early 70's. The one next to it is a Christmas 1999 Santa bottle.
Day 35 ~ 4 Feb 2011. Our 100 year old piano, purchased for us by Dave's dad, when our kids were little. Fred loved to play music, on many instruments, and he thought everyone should have a piano. He searched for quite awhile till he found one he liked the sound of, this one. He went to the man's house to pay for the piano and arrange for shipping to our house. He collapsed on his way out, and died instantly from the massive heart attack he suffered.
So this piano remains in our living room, a tribute to Fred Town's love of music.

The Senate Theater was originally built in 1926 ( as was the pipe organ that is still contained inside - although it started it's life in the Fisher Theater ). It was designed by architect Christian Brandt. It closed in 1958 and was later purchased by the Detroit Theater Organ Society and reopened in 1963. Unlike the Redford Theater ( located elsewhere on my page ) it no longer has it's projection screen and equipment and is a concert venue only. More info is available at www.dtos.org . It is located on Michigan Avenue, near Livernois, just outside of the city of Dearborn.

A British car that started as a 3 wheeler. Later became a 4/4 (4 wheels/4 cylinders). Around 1949 they increase the size of the engine to 1.8 liter and called it the Plus 4. Best I can tell this is early 1950 (probably '51) Morgan Plus 4. If anyone knows for sure please correct me.
