I played with this in Lightroom. It is nice to use it again - I spent a lot of time in LR when I did my portrait year. I need to get back into it. It just takes that little bit longer than my normal i-photos processing!!
I really liked the contrast between light and shade on the back wall so played a little to make this more pronounced.
Many thanks all for your fab critique on the poinsettia shot - I have been playing with it in LR too. Feedback always welcome on this project.

[Etapa 4: Montefurado – San Clodio] [17.2km]

This photo was taken on Mother's Day 2004. It was taken from one of the boats sailing down the the Li River on a 4 hour lunch cruise. We drove from Guilin to the departure point boarded the boats then sailed down river and disembarked at Yangshou and then drove back to Guilin. One of my most enjoyable Mother's Day's yet.
My beautiful boy hasn't been feeling well since a Lyme flare up and some sudden stomach sensitivities. He has lost a lot of weight and isn't himself, but hoping a new food and some time off the Doxy will help. He was still ready to chase the gorgeous, bushy fox that entered the pastures this evening!

This was taken near the Ottawa River very late in the day. The sun was setting and just capping the tops of these 4 trees. With the pinky/mauve clouds in the background and the texture of the trees, it was a pretty sight.
This is the third photo of a serie of 4, after 1/4 SOUFFRIR, 2/S'OUVRIR.
Anyway, you are a seed. The seeds that remains immersed in a lake of tears will actually become rotten. In fact, a seed needs so few things to germinate and give birth to flowers and fruits: a little water, a little light, a little air. Earth is already within you, here are you roots, planted when you were a child by the persons who loved you so much and are not there anymore. So, however devastated the land may be, let this love seed germinate so that its fulfils its destiny, achieving the cycle of life to carry on building this chain of love. Despite your fear to be trampled or hurt again, go on offering what you bear inside yourself, pour your heart into life, as what you offer to others is also a present you offer to yourself.
