Na opheffing van de overige tramlijnen was in Saint Étienne vanaf 1954 alleen de tramlijn 4 van Bellevue naar Terrasse nog over. De drukke smalle straten waar lijn 4 doorheen reed waren niet geschikt voor autobusexploitatie. In 158/59 werden dertig PCC's geleverd waarmee de gehele dienst uitgevoerd kon worden. Het waren net als de later geleverde PCC's van Marseille rijtuigen met een wagenbreedte van slechts twee meter. De militante en machtige Franse vakbonden lieten productie in het buitenland niet toe. daarom werden de wagens in sublicentie van het B Belgische La Brugeoise en ACEC in de Elzas bij les ateliers de Strasbourg gebouwd met een elektrische installatie die door het Franse le Material Electrique Schneider-Westinghouse geproduceerd werd.
Omdat er toch maar één tramlijn was, is het lijncijfer 4 permanent op het front van de wagens aangebracht. Wagennummer 529 van de tram die we hier zien is met kleine cijfers op de zijwand aangebracht.

Ooit was de heldere crème kleur een teken van moderniteit en reinheid. De kleur werd door veel trambedrijven gebruikt voor het wagenpark. Meer trams in deze algemeen gebruikte kleurstelling vindt u in het album "Een echte tram is crème".

A welcome sign as I headed back to the lea shore and calmer water. An opening in the scudding clouds. It's interesting too see the color shift on the water, where there's blue reflecting off it's surface as a strip in an otherwise steely grey river. As the conditions improved, I felt good enough to get the big DSLR out of its waterproof bag!

10,957 days or more simply, 30 years ago, I said "I do" to my husband. Though today is a milestone day it is going to be a normal day filled with our regular schedule of work and such. Tonight my youngest daughter and her friend want to celebrate with us so we will all have a party and dinner. We still enjoy hanging out together, laughing and playing, and need to improve still on getting stuff done. I am grateful for his patience, love and support and can't imagine life without him in it.
Just a trio of hoodlums at the end of a looong week. Every person in my house has been fighting a stomach bug, and Seth, despite being a fairly high drive, high energy puppy, has handled it so well. He's got excellent bedside manner for a 4 month old.
