As soon as I saw the set 40407 in the summer of 2020, I knew I was onto something interesting. Featuring an interesting use of the curved slopes to depict the sleek shape of the A-Wing, it was definitely one of the more accurate take on the interceptor aircraft. I immediately took it to have my own take.
I fixed what I felt was incorrect: the incorrect obtuse fuselage tip; the over-exaggerated winglets; and the missing thrusters, which I knew exactly how to do from my experience with StarCraft. And I love what I ended up with.
Of course, I miss that transparent horizontal tooth part that represents the cockpit. But being a brand new unique part, I forgive myself for that.
