Using the clip as the droid's head also allows it to be swooshable!
40407's mini TIE Interceptor has a novel solution for attaching the wings to the body, and it inspired me to use the connection to make a Droid Starfighter in miniature!
It's been a while since I last purchased LEGO sets so my collection is many ways out of date. I resigned myself to making this in light grey, but it turns out I only have the 1x1 1/4 circle tiles in black! Will need to rectify this in the future...
‘Scene’ on a PSV Circle Organised Visit
At the Premises of ‘preston bus’ /1
on Dennis Basford’srailsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’
The PSV Circle (of which I have been a member for some years) aims to hold an Annual General Meeting in a different location in the UK every year.
Usually held at a weekend, they also include visits to operators and other bus related venues for the attending members to visit and enjoy.
This year, the location being in the North West of England centred on the Holiday Inn Express, Preston.
Friend Peter Rose joined me for what turned out to be a sometimes wet, but very enjoyable weekend.
As we have done before, we have combined all the images we have gathered.
The credits being joint D.Basford/P.M.Rose.
‘Preston Bus’, which has a history going back to 1904, became part of the ‘ROTALA’ group in 2011.
Riseholme Lake, in the grounds of Riseholme Hall, the University of Lincoln's former farming and agriculture campus, Riseholme, West Lindsey, Lincolnshire.
The Riseholme Hall was built in the middle of the 18th century by the Chaplin family. Formal tree planting and the lake were already in place by 1779, but by the early-19th century the south park had become more informal. In 1840 the estate was sold to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners, to become the Palace for the Bishop of Lincoln. The hall and park were re-modelled and a new church was built. The estate was sold in 1887. It was later bought by the County Council in 1945.
The site was converted into Riseholme Farm Institute in 1949, before becoming in 1966 the Lindsey College of Agriculture. In 1980, the Lindsey College merged with its counterparts in the parts of Holland and Kesteven, and the combined county-wide college of agriculture was taken over by De Montfort University in 1994, before transferring to the University of Lincoln in 2001. The University of Lincoln announced that it would not be renewing its further education contract at Riseholme College after August 2012. Bishop Burton College then took over the site to deliver courses for post-16 students.
