Starbucks + cinema neste domingo.

Voltei aos 15 anos e guardo ingresso de cinema. :B

Yesterday we got the call all parents dread: my stepson was in the hospital after almost dieing. He is 26 and will make 27.

I can't believe I've actually made it 10 days!

This is my brother, Greg. He's at the top of his high school nursing program. He'll be a doctor one of these days. I took this just after he finished putting in some hours at the hospital.

One 580EX held left at 1/4th with the bounce card. Ambient light fairly underexposed.

A lone bird enjoying the sunset in Manzanita, Oregon. These colors are pretty much as-is, with minimal post-processing.

Frankie looking out from our porch.

No saturation - the grass is super green after last night's crazy rain.

While going through some boxes in the basement, I came across a box of my grandparents' old papers. There were clippings from 1942 showing photos from the attack on Pearl Harbor, newspapers from the moon landing in 1969, an Elvis commemorative magazine published right after his death, magazines from the Blizzard of 1978 and Hurricane Carol in 1954, a post-WWII atlas supplement, and a couple of menus. There was one from 1943 commemorating the one year anniversary of the USS Massachusetts, as well as this one from a Christmas dinner in 1945. I remember going through my grandma's Life magazines from the 1960s (I'm not sure where those ended up) when I was younger. I have always had a fascination with history, and I have my grandparents to thank for that.

Day 32 of 365.

Quincy joined me at work today. He was a big help--organizing the stacks of cables and gadgets in the IT closet.

32/365 #365project

316.365 - November 12, 2013 - We had some errands to run tonight so I didn't get a chance to take a good picture this evening. So, I'm uploading a shot from a little over a week ago when I took my wife and daughter's pictures at a nearby park. I really liked this one and almost used it as my shot for that day but decided I better use one with both of them in it and then save this one to use as a filler later on.

304/365 #365project

today:

burritos with stephanie,

lots of journal writing after work,

first women's climbing clinic.

so, so glad i decided to do that.

360/365 - This didn't work out great, but I was not really in the mood for photos.

Shrooms!

Went for a wander around the beautiful National Trust property Knightshayes Court today.

Came across these familiar and autumnal toadstools amongst a sea of green grass.

The Amanita mascara, or the Fly Agaric as we more commonly know it, is one of the most iconic and distinctive of the toadstools, commonly depicted in children’s books and on Christmas cards around the world.

It is easily recognised with its red cap and white spots, the Fly Agaric is renowned for its toxicity and hallucinogenic properties, so be sure you don't collect any of these for your supper whilst on a mushroom hunt!

279.365 - October 6, 2013 - Well I didn't get a good picture taken today because I'm not feeling great and my daughter wanted me to watch "The Dark Knight Rises" with her to finish off her Dark Knight trilogy marathon for the weekend. And that took up pretty much all of my free time between lunch and having to leave for our evening church service.

So, I'm posting yet another photo from a photo shoot with my wife from a few weeks ago.
