The new fence that was installed this morning gives us and our neighbor a little bit more privacy. And I think it's extra gorgeous!!
I spotted just a touch of fog coming along the M3 this morning so took the next junction off for a quick photo. This shot kind of sums up my mood this week, one that's been quite eventful.
I think my husband and I have enough baseball hats - but only two are mine! Three guesses as to which those are! :)
It was a low key Friday for sure.
High point: cupcakes and coffee at Crumbs. The Blackbottom Cheesecake Brownie cupcake was delish.
Good/Decent point: A visit to Andy's bar in Bogota. An ideal bar for beer lovers (as they have a fine array of brews) and for actually talking, as there isn't horrible music playing at a deafening level.
Low point: having the sloppiest drunk interrupt our conversation to ask us to "watch his drink while he had a cigarette". We were asked to "try his beer". We passed up that offer. As well as the offer for him to buy me a drink (I didn't want to speak to the slur master anymore). He also tried to pour more lambic in my glass. The bottle was empty, and he was trying really hard to pour it. When he came back, interrupting us again, he almost threw up on Brandie. True story. We left soon after that. You honestly can't come back from that.
Did a shoot today for the cover of my kids yearbook. Was a lot of fun but was a bit like herding cats... here is one of the final cuts. On another note, supposed to fly from Grand Rapids Michigan to Phoenix (via Chicago) tomorrow... anyone seen the weather? Take care 342

I do my best NEVER to shoot this scene, it is so easy as I live in this little beach town and something like this happens every night. But tonight is special, tonight is the night before the kids go back to school, the tourists leave the beach and we start to get the blazing fall colors that make Michigan a tolerable place for another season. I was going to do this like a full blown post card but I stopped short of the text so please imagine the 2009 and the cheezy slogan. Hope you all had a great Labor day. 250 in the books..

Got our invitation for prom today.
I've seen the invitations of the past batches.
This has got to be the worst invitation ever.
No offense to the person who did it but, It's too simple for me.
I can believe prom is 4 days away!
Day 33
How it may look for someone about to be buried alive. Taken with a wide angle lens from the bottom of the foundations on our new extension. This photo was once again a challenge of how to turn and extremely banal subject into a reasonably interesting photograph.
I've always liked going out and taking pictures but it became a real hobby shortly after college when I moved to Ohio. I lived somewhere new and taking pictures was a great reason to get out and explore. When we moved to Wisconsin, I again used photography as an impetus to explore my new home. In the last year it has become something new. When 2020 was going all 2020 on us and life felt overwhelming, going out for a hike and taking pictures became my way to turn off the world for a few hours and decompress. Exploring this beautiful place and taking pictures has become my therapy (and provided much needed exercise as I avoid the gym during Covid).
