This is Charlie. Charlie was our waiter at Perly's, a Jewish restaurant in Richmond Virginia. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with an authentic mid-century vibe (no coincidence; it was opened a long time ago!). The food was wonderful, too, but it is really the cheerful and attentive service that stands out, especially if you're lucky enough to get Charlie as your waiter!
"Even though the works of art will be destroyed and damaged, the spirit of their successors will remain, they will always continue to work. And human civilization will always develop to mark an era"
Over the last few days, sparrows of various types and their fledglings came to feed in my garden. They may not be the most popular garden birds but fascinating to observe nevertheless.

No Group Banners, thanks.
Heading back from Inverness this afternoon and the sky was dark with the waves still rolling and crashing on Loch Ness after the passing of Storm Arwen. I love the loch when it is like this - dark and sinister and feeling more like the sea than an inland body of fresh water... it gives me the heebiejeebies like nowhere else I can think of!
My first female Orange Tip of this year. I like the setting with the florets looking almost like a firework!
