I thought I'd try my hand in one of these yearly LEGO model summary pictures.
Last year I certainly built a lot more little things outside of my core interest of Architecture, mostly due to various interesting building contests. With only starting a Flickr account last year and attending my first real-life conventions, I'm still discovering the broader LEGO building community.
I'm looking forward to continuing this fun journey and building whenever I get a neat inspiration or an exciting task to work on. But I also got more Architecture projects in planning already.
All the stuff that I created in 2021. Is not much because I did not have the enough time. Some of them are still not posted.
So the Oscars were last night and they got a little bad. Plenty of great speeches and deserving wins, but these are a couple of the nominees my girlfriend and I were a little disappointed to see lose, even if the winners were probably just as deserving! Shout out to my girlfriend for helping out with these designs as well. :)

2021 was quite a busy year for me, but surprisingly still ended up being one of my more productive years with regards to LEGO! I ended up completing a total of 27 models, and was able to compete in several contests throughout the year.
At the top of the list is competing in Iron Builder not once, but twice! It was an honor and pleasure to face off against the incredibly talented Jayfa in February/March, and then Dan Ko in November/December. I never really thought I would have the opportunity to compete in even one IB round, so to have participated in 3 now is a bit hard to believe! And I have to say a massive thank-you to everyone who commented on builds or sent me messages throughout all of my time competing. It truly means a lot! And also a massive thank-you to Markus and Simon for doing all the behind the scenes work to make this competition possible!
As always, running the Summer Joust with Isaac and many other friends from the LEGO community was another highlight of the year. Not only did we have a record number of entries this year, but the quality was astonishing as well! It's so inspiring to see what all of you create.
Competing in the RogueOlympics for the first time was also super fun - It was one of, if not the first time I had competed in a contest with a piece limitation. I didn't expect to want to jump right into another competition after having just finished an IB round, but it proved to be really enjoyable challenge, and pushed me to build a bit differently than I was used to.
After several years, it was also so much fun to finally be able to complete a couple collabs with Isaac, and I'm already looking forward to when we are able to do another.
Overall I think this was probably my most diverse year when it comes to building - I dabbled a bit in sci-fi, steampunk, brick-built animals, life-size replicas, vehicles, microscale, characters, constraction, and even a little bit of video and stop motion (which gave me even more awe and respect for those who do stop-motion films :D).

Rounding out 2022 with an average of 4 models per year for the last 2 years (same as the two years before that), I'm certainly not the most prolific builder; still, I feel incredibly lucky to have seen such positive responses to my builds over the last couple of years, with more than half of them featured in some kind of article or publication, ranging from The Brothers Brick to the Wall Street Journal.
Thank you to all 740+ (!!!) followers, whether you've been with me for years or just joined me recently, and I look forward to more builds in the new year, with some fun rare parts in the mix soon!

With much love and excitement, I would like to introduce, and welcome, NEON's newest 2021 blogging team!
I am beyond exited to be adding new faces to NEON's roster, and can not wait to continue growing the team! I look forward to working with each and everyone of you, and cannot wait to see the amazing work that is put out!
I want to thank everyone who applied and showed interest in the NEON brand! It means the world to me! Every single one of you just blew me away with how talented you were! As of now I am keeping the team small, as I work alone as a one person team. As NEON grows as a company, I hope to continue expanding!
Applications will re open in 2022!

As is typical in many parts of Vancouver, graffiti = tagging = vandalism and it runs rampant.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the DTES and the city’s Chinatown area have been hit with wave-after-wave of tagging.
There’s no enforcement and no responsibility for those responsible - an oxymoron?
From a policing point of view, it's known who some of these people are but it’s a low priority policing focus.
Businesses are mad as they have to clean up the mess. Some on the other side suggest this is a fundamental right of expression - really?
City rules say property owners must remove graffiti in 10 days or the city will do it and forward the bill. A business called Goodbye Graffiti is making a very good living.
Some of the hardest hit neighbourhoods are Chinatown, the Downtown Eastside and Strathcona, but city administrators say the problem is citywide and it has been hard to keep up with the amount of tagging taking place.
In 2020 approximately 2,300 businesses had to remove graffiti between March and August, the city says. That's a 67 per cent increase from the same time period the year before — and it's costing businesses dearly.
There is always the debate over whether graffiti is art or plain vandalism.
About 99% of the graffiti in Vancouver is tagging, stickers or illegal posters—it’s more scribble than any artistic merit.
