Shore of Lake Michigan just South of Sheboygan the Wide lens perspective catches shadow of camera and strap
Located in the South Region in Iceland right by Route 1, Seljalandsfoss is one of the best known waterfalls in Iceland. The waterfall drops 60 m. One of the interesting things about this waterfall is that visitors can walk behind it into a small cave.

The Völklingen Ironworks (German: Völklinger Hütte) is located in the German town of Völklingen, Saarland. In 1994, it was declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.
It is an anchor point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage (ERIH).
In 1873, Julius Buch began planning of a steel works near Völklingen on the banks of the Saar river. However, this planned work was not completed. In 1881, Carl Röchling began new construction. Two years later the first smelter began operation. The plant closed in 1986.
Today, the Völklinger Hütte is a museum. The Ferrodrom is an interactive science center focusing on the making of iron. Visitors can tour the production areas. In addition, temporary exhibits, on a variety of topics are hosted in the large power halls. In the summer, there are occasional concerts held.

La lontananza, la freddezza sull'oggettualità, le loro dimensioni anonime mostrano, a mio parere, una realtà senza tempo....qualcuno potrebbe dire che è minimalismo, io ci vedo soltanto l'attimo prima del risveglio, un "silenzio fatato".

O ragazza dalle guance di pesca
o ragazza dalle guance d'aurora
io spero che a narrarti riesca
la mia vita all'eta` che tu hai ora.
Coprifuoco, la truppa tedesca
la citta` dominava, siam pronti:
chi non vuole chinare la testa
con noi prenda la strada dei monti.
Avevamo vent'anni e oltre il ponte

vedevam l'altra riva, la vita

Tutto il male avevamo di fronte

Silenziosa sugli aghi di pino
su spinosi ricci di castagna
una squadra nel buio mattino
discendeva l'oscura montagna.

a assaltar caposaldi nemici
conquistandoci l'armi in battaglia
scalzi e laceri eppure felici.
Avevamo vent'anni...
Non e` detto che fossimo santi
l'eroismo non e` sovrumano

Vedevamo a portata di mano
oltre il tronco il cespuglio il canneto
l'avvenire di un giorno piu' umano
e piu' giusto piu' libero e lieto.

Ormai tutti han famiglia hanno figli
che non sanno la storia di ieri
io son solo e passeggio fra i tigli
con te cara che allora non c'eri.
E vorrei che quei nostri pensieri
quelle nostre speranze di allora
rivivessero in quel che tu speri
o ragazza color dell'aurora.
Avevamo vent'anni...
Da ieri lui e la sorellina giocano in un grande giardino di una villa di un nostro amico a cui li abbiamo regalati, si sono subito ambientati e stanno benissimo!!!!

Seals or sea lions, (I can't tell from this distance), lying on the beach where the Russian River runs into the Pacific Ocean, just north of Bodega Bay, California.
So, I went back and looked at the original enlarged. They are sea lions, with maybe a harbor seal or two mixed in.
This is taken when the winter was still at full strength. It was midday, sun was barely visible through the haze. Air was filled with ice crystals and cold mist. The whole field was covered with mystic light. Everything was covered with snow frost.
I know, you all are probably in the spring with your thoughts and really tired of winter, ice and cold. But I still have some winter images to share! Nature around here is now showing first signs of spring. When that longed emerging season is finally here (we still have some snow!) I will be able to enjoy and photograph it.
In life, it is important to know when something has come to an end, and when it is time to move on. Such is the case for me and Flickr. It's been an amazing journey, since 2008. I'm very proud of what I've done here. I was looking at my stream and felt kind of moved by how my story, both as a photographer and as a person, is told through these images and captions. All my ups and downs. Also, I've met some amazing people here.
Thank you all for your friendship and opportunity to see your amazing pictures. I want to thank specially those who stayed with me until the very end, those who never left.
It's funny, some people stopped being reciprocal, some just really disappeared without any explanation, and some even died. Flickr really is like a world of its own, and I'll sure miss it, and will miss you all!
