Named "Uncle Willy's Health Food Shop" in the local J-Tree climbing guidebook. Walked by it many times over the years, waiting for the lighting and elements to fall into place. (Vivitar, Cosina model, 19mm f/3.8 glass on Velvia 50 film).
The demons of our souls
Stand lonely and forlorn
Wondering where they ought to be?
Fearsome creatures of the night.
Trapped in the perdition that is Delhi
They huddle on the kerbside and wait
In the dark of its loathesome nights.
Their grimacing mouths seeking release.
Someone surely will buy these
Make mighty tall Ravanas and more
Give them what they need - their absolution - Purgatory
Before they light the final fires.
Notes on Photography - These are demon heads meant for consecration at Dasshera time in and around Delhi. This is hand held and shot at 2500 ISO with fortuitous lighting provided by the sole human being passing by on his scooter.

Eastbourne Pier - Eastbourne - East Sussex, U.K.
Just had a lovely time driving down south to East Sussex on a rare weekend with some sun. It was blustery for the most part, but at least there was no rain for a change. Eastbourne reminded me of Brighton, only much quieter and less crowded and better suited for a weekend where you just want to mix business with a bit of pleasure.
...
One of the last remaining Victorian piers in England, Eastbourne Pier is a seaside pleasure pier in East Sussex. Formally opened by Lord Edward Cavendish in 1870, the pier is built on stilts that rest in cups on the seabed allowing the whole structure to move during rough weather. At the end of the pier is a tower that is often used as a viewing point during the annual air show. The city of Eastbourne, dubbed as the sunniest place in England, attracts over 4 million visitors a year.

Colorado Springs, CO - The final upload needed to complete my county fair photo set, this photo was printed 11x14 and mounted within a large oval white mat (I have attempted to reproduce that look digitally). I took this photo at my local grocery store as I was playing with cell phone photography so that I could have images for all of the fair's classes. Otherwise, I would seldom be using a phone for photos.
This image earned 1st place in the 2012 El Paso County Fair (Adult Cell Phone Class).
Bigbury-on-Sea is a village in the South Hams district on the south coast of Devon, England. It is part of the civil parish of Bigbury which is centred on a small village of that name about a mile inland. Bigbury-on-Sea village is on the coast above the largest sandy beach in South Devon facing south to Bigbury Bay. The tidal island of Burgh Island lies about 270 yards (250 metres) offshore.
At the start of the 20th century Bigbury-on-Sea consisted of a few fishermen's cottages with fish cellars. The village grew with the growth in holidaymaking and now has a beach cafe, and by the mainland side of causeway is the Burgh Island Causeway resort built in 1998 replacing the burnt out fishermen's cottages after a controversial planning application. The resort is made up of privately owned and holiday let flats and a private leisure club with indoor pool and gym. The Devon Coastal Path runs behind the resort.
The large sandy beach is very popular for wave and wind based water sports, but it lost its Blue Flag beach status in 2012 due to water quality issues.
There are two large car parks with easy access to the beaches and the walk across the sand bar to Burgh Island with its Art Deco Hotel and Pilchard Inn. When the tide covers the sand bar access is by the sea tractor.

european magpie ~ pica pica
The magpie is on the RSPB Green status list.
Yes, it is wet again more drizzle. I am not sure what caused the interest in this plant pot unless there was an ant's nest or many slugs in there. Several birds stopped on it and seemed to find something to eat. The only thing I could see was a small black slug and a few holes.

In 2010 when I got my first fisheye lens, it was my most used lens by a wide margin, with that trend continuing through 2011. I knew a lot of people didn't like it, or thought it was gimmicky, but I was enamored with the look and didn't really care what people thought. In 2012, my fisheye usage started to drop, and if I look back in Adobe Bridge, I see less and less usage on every trip since then. Today, it's the least-used lens in my arsenal.
All of this is a preface to say that, while I have come to realize I used the fisheye way too much--and often as a compositional crutch--I still love the look in small doses, so humor me with this totally gimmicky shot. I think it sort of feels here like you can see so far into the distance that you can actually see the curvature of the earth. Or something like that.

Ta Prohm (The Tomb Raider Temple), Angkor Wat and Bayon comprise the “Big Three” of temple structures in Angkor Archaeological Park. They receive the majority of visitors and if you do not time your visit correctly, you will find yourself in an assembly line of tourists.
Photographer Rick Sammon has a simple tip when it comes to composing a shot, “Always look up, always look down and always look back.”
I took this shot at the main entrance of the Ta Prohm temple. From here it is still about a 12-15 minute walk along a dirt pathway to the main temple complex. There were hundreds of tourists lingering around their tour buses all focused on getting to the main temple complex. I simply “cloned” them out by looking up and capturing this scene.
Saved me hours in Photoshop!
Happy Travels!

No.1 London Bridge
Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, and often extended to refer to the clock and the clock tower. The tower is officially known as the Elizabeth Tower, renamed as such to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II (prior to being renamed in 2012 it was known as simply "Clock Tower"). The tower holds the largest four-faced chiming clock in the world and is the third-tallest free-standing clock tower. The tower was completed in 1858 and had its 150th anniversary on 31 May 2009, during which celebratory events took place. The tower has become one of the most prominent symbols of the United Kingdom and is often in the establishing shot of films set in London

I already explained in the last upload on the socks and the pumps, on this outfit I like also to praise the blue blouse. You can find it already in my earliest uploads from January 2012. It was among the first female clothes I ever purchased for myself :) For years it was hard to wear it, but now I lost enough weight to wear it comfortable again :)

Dennis Trident, Plaxton President number 635 (SK52 OGT) is seen at the Western General Hospital about to make its first journey in the 113's distinctive green and cream livery, emulating the former Eastern Scottish colours of old.
635 makes its debut in this livery as a peak-period service and since the summer of 2012 has worked, in a predominantly white coat, as a relief vehicle for the five Volvo B7RLE Urban Eclipse's 195 to 199 which are the principal single deckers assigned to this service.
The new Service 113, taken over by Lothian and developed from its former company in the early summer of 2012, has already been a great success and just over a year since its introduction the frequency has been increased during the working week. The artwork design and scripting accessories are the same as Lothian Buses and the distinctive gold fleet number is unmistakably Lothian!
The rural service has had a few changes to the timetable, which will include the introduction of an earlier morning journey from Pencaitland, an extra evening journey from the Western General Hospital and evening journeys extended to the West End from Frederick Street.
Lothian's Chief Executive Ian Craig says - "We are delighted with the growth of Service 113 and that it will continue to meet the needs and requirements of the local community".

The autumn colors in Northern Wisconsin are really different this year. Some places they are in full color and other places they are way behind. We spotted this little pothole lake after a rain storm on a back country road north of Boulder Junction Wisconsin.

Black Scoters have been showing up along the Florida coast in much larger numbers than normal this winter. I took this on Playalinda Beach at Canaveral National Seashore near Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in Central Florida.
I uploaded this flight shot in full size so you can see the birds in much better detail, including the yellow knob on the bills of the two adult males. www.flickr.com/photos/musicarver/8314470729/sizes/o/in/ph...

On Friday, April 20, 2012, I was extremely fortunate to see and photograph the Smith’s Longspur (Calcarius pictus) that was discovered the previous day (April 19) by Robert Hewit on Bear River Ridge. This is the first ever record of this species in Humboldt County, and the 9th record for California, the first of which to be a springtime, alternate (breeding) plumage male! A stunning bird! It hasn’t been seen since Friday and is presumed to have moved on.

Most Irish festivals have a Queen. The Moy Salmon Festival in Ballina have a slightly different approach and instead select a Lady of the Moy for the duration of their festival each year. This is Katie Leonard who is the 2012 Lady of the Moy. I spotted her along with one of her assistants (regretably I do not have her name) when they were out and about during Ballina Heritage Day, one of the principal events of the week long festival.
Nada he querido comenzar el año con un poco de los colores que me rodean y dedicarlo a todos los que necesitamos de los mismos para crecer.

Believe me. Miami is the f*cking crazyiest city out there!
This was already the second Bugatti I saw that day and I was just goin' crazy when I saw who was owning this one! It was Flo Rida and he was just going one meter next to me and went to the car!
But that was not even the most amazing thing. Behind Flo Rida there were two guys going, one drove the Ferrari 458 Italia right next to the Bugatti and the other one was a guy I already talked to several times!!
When he recognized me we talked for some minutes (while Flo Rida was waiting for him in the Veyron) and then he invited me to hang out with Flo Rida and his crew in his penthouse for one evening!.
This was one of the most amazing evenings I ever had. We were hangin' out in Flo Ridas penthouse while two Bugattis were parking right next to us! ( Flo Ridas white one + Birdmans red one ).
That's why I'd say: Miami is the most amazing city I've ever known!

During my visit to the Tetons of Jackson Hole, WY in early September 2012, I decided to head out 2 hours before sunset to an off the beate.n path area I hadn't been to since 2010. To my surprise I was pleased to find these paragliders out practicing and training. I got so caught up in the aerial acrobatics some where carrying out that I stop shooting and then I woke up and started firing away. It was a fun sight to behold.
I will probably be taking my groups here on my two 2013 JH Teton s.pring photo shoot adventures on the weekend of June 28-30 and the weekend of July 5-7. After all, this would be a great opportunity for those wanting to shoot vide.o with you.r d.igital camera. I'm astounding at the incredible quality of the HD vide.o the Canon 5DM3 takes. But lets look into the future...my guess is that given the advent of even higher resolution video such as 4K perhaps the next iteration of the Canon 5DM3/4 will shoot 4K and why not, there's already a 256GB SDHCx card out !

I finally had a chance to meet up with my friend Dennis to do a full photoshoot of his bagged 1974 ford courier. I've been waiting for this opportunity for over a year now and was so pumped to get some pictures.
This truck is a gem...there aren't many around these days and most certainly not as unique as this one. The whole bag system was custom done by Dennis in his little shop at home. No "kits" off the internet for this truck, all one off parts he made himself. He recently went to the 2012 dropped and destroyed truck show in Ohio. He drove all the way from Ontario, Canada in the truck with a friend to the show and won the "No shine award" while there!
This has to be one of the coolest little trucks out there and to see it in person is just too awesome!!!
