Today, in my mind's eye, I continue to follow a dirt track into the high desert in Lassen County. The desert colors are quite delicious here--earthy tones that stretch to the distant hills. Jack rabbits dart through the brush keeping a low profile, always mindful of the coyotes and hawks. Personally, I'm more mindful of the rattlesnakes and keep a close watch as to where I step. After all, this is their domain. Not mine. Still, it does not deter me from seeing the beauty in this arid land, and reflecting on what an amazing world we live in.

We went in search of autumn colour over easter
We got the timing right this year
There was small breaks in the cloud cover spotlighting the countryside
I love the leaves all the way up the side of the road

When I first joined Flickr, very few people viewed or commented on my shots. Today I have moved a few of my many unseen shots to the front of my photostream in the hope more people will see and perhaps enjoy them. This shot was taken at St Helens on the east coast of Tasmania; a photographer's paradise if there ever was one.
