I spent a few days in Death Valley with some good friends. Here is a shot from the sand dunes at sunrise.

On the way back from the spectacular Delicate Arch, I was able to photograph the setting sun in front of the desert landscape of the Arches National Park.

Auf dem Rückweg vom spektakulären Delicate Arch konnte ich noch die untergehende Sonne vor der Wüstenlandschaft des Arches Nationalpark fotografieren.
Aaand this is my vampire character for The Fallen.
I feel like I completely missed the mark on this edit. The whole time I hated doing it and I really dislike how it turned out lmao.
Buuuut since I spent all that time on it, I figured I might as well upload it anywho.

(Flame-rumped Tanager / Toche)
The Flame-rumped Tanager occurs from western Panama south through Colombia to western Ecuador. This is a sociable bird, being typically found in monospecific flocks, which inhabit shrubby semi-open areas.

The sunsets are still moving north, funny how the furthest move north will be June 20th when the sun makes its complete journey north to the tropic of cancer line and then will recede back to the equator for Fall but the hotter days will come a month after when the sun is right between Equator and Cancer. Today was a cool day with another night in the 50s, the Bermuda grass still waiting for 60 degree nights.

The people seem so small in this landscape taken at Arches National Park Utah. The shot was taken around sunset so the light is rather low but strong

Textures and brushes are my own. The texture was made from water paint (the real kind scanned in) and my brushes were made with tempera paint, scanned in, and turned into photoshop brushes.

For Our Daily Challenge: In The Air
I spent part of the afternoon kneeling in a meadow trying to photograph bluetailed dragonflies in flight. Fortunately, though they are very fast, they sometimes hover for a few moments in one place. But I discovered that they are still not easy to capture, at least for me. Out of nearly 100 clicks of the shutter, I got only a handful of shots that I felt were potentially usable. This is the best of those.
