Friend Peter Rose and I were off to Newark to record the closing days of ‘Marshalls of Sutton on Trent’ operating Service 90 from Newark into Nottingham.
See blog posted 16/04/2023.
Always being willing to support public transport, we went into Nottingham by train.
As we have done before on joint outings, we have combined all the images we have gathered.

There are stars with holes in the middle, which is caused by GFX50R's hot pixel suppression, not by the lens.

It was Senior Day today, February 17, 2019, at McCollum Arena as the Hoggers hosted Choate. The Hoggers got on the board first when Mike Kennedy '19 fired a wrister into the upper right corner on an odd-man rush. Theo Hembre '19 then made it 2-0 to secure a two goal advantage going into the second stanza. The second period saw a slew of penalties called against the Hoggers that really put the boys on the back foot and gave Choate the opportunity to pull one back which they did to make it a one goal game. However, the Hoggers scored with only 5 ticks on the second period clock to restore the two goal advantage when Theo Hembre '19 fired one in from the slot with assists on the play going to Colin Hedge '19 and Devan Tongue '19. In the third period, the Hoggers blew the game open with four goals to secure a 7-1 victory. Ean Small '19 got it going with a nice turn-around effort from the slot. Noah Heisler '19 then got in on the act with an impeccably placed laser from the point that found the upper left corner for a real "beaut" as they might say up north in Heisler's home country of Canada. Off the ensuing face-off Jack Loran '19 latched on to a Theo Hembre '19 pass and sent a twisted wrister top-shelf for another "beaut," that officially let the home crowd know that the rout was on. Ean Small '19 then concluded the scoring tapping a nicely placed Reese Farrell '20 pass beyond the Choate netminder to finish off a 2-on-1 rush. Connor Hasley '20 got the start in net today and was his usual stalwart self between the pipes. Andrew Rodriguez '21 also saw action in the latter half of the third period and closed out the game with some nice saves. After the victory it was time to celebrate the following Seniors: PG's - Ean Small, Theo Hembre, Mike Dunderdale, Aleksei Bogdanoff, Mike Siemering and Joey Siemering. One season (but four years at NMH) Senior - Michael Patterson. Two year Seniors - Noah Heisler, Jack Loran and Asst. Captain Jack Quinn. Three year Seniors - Colin Hedge and Asst. Captain Devan Tongue. Four year Senior - Team Captain Mike Kennedy.

This stretch of Applegate Road was originally part of the Lincoln Highway which was constructed in the 1920's, about the same time the Southern Pacific added the second track on the west side of the Donner Pass line.
