1. I watched the talk from Nydia. Blas.

2. I chose her talk because most, if not all of her work focuses on the black experience in America. I visited her website and viewed some of her photos and I thought they were absolutely great and I felt like I could relate to many of them as well.

3. I took inspiration from one of Nydia Blas' photos on her website. I own four guns, but I bought this particular one to carry at my old job, at a liquor store because I got into a fight earlier this year with a racist customer. The owners of the liquor store chain weren't fond of me carrying in the store, but they completely understood why I wanted to do this. I know many people oppose carrying guns, but I do believe with proper training, guidance, and a certain level of responsibility, people should be able to carry. I especially say this for black people in America today.

For shoot 2, I decided to focus more on the smaller streets where houses of the 1930's style were more prevalent. For consistency, I decided to stick with the retro filter. However, I knew that I needed to be mindful of lighting as the difference in weather conditions affected the lighting of my subject matter.

November 2. I was back in my office for only my second time since mid-March and I saw quite a few COVID-related signs.

Today was the big day - back to school for semester #2. I was going to take my picture of me unpacking, but I'm glad I took this in the car...because I wasn't a big fan of anything I took while unpacking. I just pulled out my iPod (it's my 2nd true love, the only thing that beats it is performing) and relaxed in the back seat for the 3 hour trip.

And then, getting back, was phenomenal! Aside from an issue where I'm not on my RA's roster for the dorm and such, it feels so good to be back in my dorm. I've missed the people and the campus TONS.
