Škoda właśnie opuściła pętlę Litvínov Citadela i kieruje się do Mostu. W Moście i Litvínovie jest fajna mała sieć tramwajowa.

 

Most to miasteczko mające około 67 000 mieszkańców. Razem z Litvínovem (około 27 000 mieszkańców) ma najmniejszą sieć tramwajową Czech. Kursują cztery linie (1-4), z tego tylko linie 2 i 4 kursują "normalnie" czyli od ok. 5 do 22-23. Linie 1 i 3 są liniami wspomagającymi. Jedynka jeździ rano i po południu, lecz trójka ma tylko pięć kursów wczesnym ranem (od około 4:50 do 6).

 

Sieć to w sumie jedna linia z Mostu do Litvínova z odgałęzieniem do mosteckiego dworca.

 

Linia 1 łączy Litvínov z Mostem i jest najdłuższą linią (Litvínov Citadela - Most Velebudická)

 

Linia 2 kursuje tylko w Moście (Most Velebudická - Most Nádraží)

 

Linia 3 łączy Litvínov z mosteckim dworcem (Litvínov Citadela - Most Nádraží)

 

Linia 4 kursuje z Litvínova do zajezdni w Moście (Litvínov Cyitadela - Most Dopravní podnik)

Poza tym istnieje linia nocna (40), która obsługuje całą sieć.

 

Most jako miasto jest ciekawe pod kątem architektury z lat 60. Starszych zabytków jest bardzo mało, gdyż w 1964 r. zdecydowano by "przesunąć" miasto o kilka kilometrów. Właściwie przesunięto w sumie tylko jeden budynek, kościół, który obecnie stoi w sumie w centrum miasta, ale wokół kościoła prawie nic nie ma, ponieważ jest po drugiej stronie linii kolejowej a ta linia kolejowa jest barierą w centrum Mostu.

"Przesunięto" miasto w celu eksploatacji złóż węgla brunatnego.

 

A Škoda just departed from the turning loop Litvínov Citadela and started its journey to Most. In Most and Litvínov is a fine small tram network.

 

Most is a small town with around 67 000 inhabitants. It has together with Litvínov (around 27 000 inhabitants) the smallest network in Czechia. Four lines are in service (1-4) out of which only line 2 and 4 are in "normal" service, that means the are in service from 5 am to 10-11 pm. Line 1 and 3 are supporting lines. Line 1 is in service in the morning and afternoon, but line 3 has only five courses in the early morning (from aroung 4:50 to 6 am).

 

The network is in general one line from Most to Litvínov with a branchline to the railway station in Most.

 

Line 1 links Litvínov with Most and is the longest line (Litvínov Citadela - Most Velebudická)

 

Line 2 runs only in Most Most (Velebudická - Most Nádraží)

 

Line 3 links Litvínov with the railway station in Most (Litvínov Citadela - Most Nádraží)

 

Line 4 runs from Litvínov to the depot in Most (Litvínov Cyitadela - Most Dopravní podnik).

 

Apart from that there is also a night line (40) which runs on the whole network.

 

Most as a town is interesting from an architectural point of view. There are very few old buildings, since in 1964 it was decided to "move" the town for some kilometers. Actually only one building was moved, the church, which is today in the centre but around the church there is almost nothing because it is on the other side of the railway line. The line is a barrier in the centre of Most.

The town was "moved" in order to mine coal.

This all started when I looked the Lego antennae and thought, man that could actually be pretty perfect as a continuous laser! This also begs a broader question - is Dune Lego space? Is it Castle? Is it fantasy?

 

There’s also some jumping around the Dune movies here- the laser door cutting happened in a hallway, this is generally supposed to be the ecological center but also not quite, you’ll probably notice our buddy Stilgar, as well as the commander of the Sardaukar from part 2. I also had to take a stab at the shield effect (pun intended).

1. On February 18 I will celebrate 26 years of marrage to my best friend Kate.

2. I love peanut butter and chocolate ice cream.

3. I am a devout Christian and getting better at it little be little.

4. My fifteen minutes of fame came when in High School I played drums in a band that opened for Chuck Berry.

5. Now I play guitar and have five of them. I'm not that good, but it's still fun.

6. I'm trying to teach myself mandolin. If I spent as much time practicing that as I do on Flickr I might get good at it.

7. I love a lot of different kinds of music, but I'm really drawn to celtic and rootsy accoustic stuff

8. I don't really care much for sports (unless my kids or grandkids are involved).

9. I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

10. I'm kind of a geek. I don't sit down at my desk without at least two computers going - one Windows and one Mac, and since the last malware attack on my wife's laptop I've switched both of our laptops over to Ubuntu Linux. You can't be a real geek unless you play with linux. That's boring I suppose but I couldn't think of a tenth one. Oh, how about this:

3. I'm homeschooling. I'm in love with it.

6. I need to shoot more. And I will, every Saturday.

7. I'm knitting a scarf. It's exciting to me.

These models represent my first foray outside of Games Workshop miniatures. I bought the 2-player Warmachine boxset for the Khador miniatures. Khador appealed to me as I think they epitomise the steampunk element of Warmachine more than the other factions.

 

I painted the models with a metallic red rather than the traditional matt red, as I felt a warlike nation like Khador would rather forge the metal in its national colours and be done with it than faff around painting it post-production. I achieved it by mixing a pot of bright red with silver to create a base colour, stipling on copper and then washing in red ink. The steel areas were pretty standard, just chainmail washed in black and drybrushed with silver.

 

You may notice I have based the models as a sandy desert rather than their usual snow. The reasons for this are threefold:

1. I felt that Khador are more likely to be on the attack than defending their own realms.

2. I was also partly inspired by the nation of Ragna from the anime film Origin: Spirits of the Past, who are from a desert environment (I do intend on collecting Circle Orboros as a Hordes force for the same reason)

3. I would have had to buy modelling snow. So no.

 

I'm pretty proud of this force and look forward to expanding it some time. As always, any comments, constructive criticism and suggestions are welcome.

I meant to start on Day 1, but brought the wrong camera with me, an the SD card didn't work.

 

So I'll offer two today to compensate.

35mm is not wide enough for my purposes.

 

This month I'm doing the Pentax SMC F 35-105 1:4-5.6mm with inbuilt macro.

 

I thought I hadn't used this before, but in actual fact I *had* done a Singles In for this lens back in February 2016 (!)

 

Considering the number of lenses I own, it's ridiculous for me to go back to one I've tried before. But I've started now, so no point swapping over....

 

My memory of this lens is very poor, so it will be a nice refresher.

 

If nothing else, the focusing distance is longer than I would like. Reminding me yet again that I really do love macro work.

 

I missed the wide angles last month, but even at 35mm, I'm discovering that this is still not wide enough for my liking.

Drinking water is something I do every day, all day long. I love these new water "bottles"... :-)

 

A better water bottle. Better for Everyone.

Designing with more renewable materials over fossil fuels is how we are lowering the carbon footprint of our packaging while protecting the water inside. Making sure our materials are responsibly sourced is how we protect the things outside too.

 

The JUST water bottle relies on the use of paper. We like paper because it is derived from trees which are renewable or grow back naturally. Using renewable materials contributes to lowered carbon emissions.

 

What do all these materials do?

Using paper as the main material is how the JUST water bottle reduces its environmental footprint while still maintaining its structure. An aluminum foil barrier does an excellent job protecting the water from light, oxygen and other potential contamination. Both the aluminum and paper are shielded by a layer of BPA-free plastic lamination to protect the integrity of the bottle.

 

Certified Paper

The paper used in the JUST water package is 100% traceable and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. Traceability back to the point of origin for paper sources is important for several reasons. One of the most important is so that the forests will be around for future generations to enjoy and for wood to continue to provide so much benefit for the world around us.

 

Plant-based plastic

The plastic in the shoulder and cap of the JUST water bottle is made from sugarcane, not from fossil fuels like petroleum. This significantly reduces our carbon emissions by utilizing a resource that grows back each year.

 

A Roll of Bottles is Efficiently Better

JUST makes a better water bottle from flat rolls that ultimately get folded into shape when they are filled. This is a highly efficient way to ship millions of bottles in a very tight space requiring fewer trucks and in turn, less energy.

 

1.5 million bottles fit into a standard 40 foot truck.

 

The same amount would take 2.5 trucks to ship “pre-formed” bottles.

I shot several rolls of both B/W and CN film. These are from Orwo NC500 color film. Under the cold, dull light it gives very „subtle“ negatives, I boosted them more than usual because of that. Basically I didn't really have a idea how to process, so just played and tried some things. More to come!

I had a couple of tiny edits to take care of on the fall ad this morning, but other that it was a pretty chill day. I assisted Ahna on an interview shoot at GAB this afternoon that went without a hitch. It was in this conference room I didn’t know existed with long, textured glass. We blasted light through that thing to make a cool, streaky background vibe.

 

After the shoot, we needed coffee but the GAB coffee shop is closed for the summer. We opted for the Union Starbucks as a backup. Since I had my Segway with me (of course), I challenged Ahna to a race. She’d take the cart and I’d race her on the Segway. Even when you factor in my brief moment of disorientation navigating campus, the Segway totally destroyed. It’s official, folks: We all need Segways now.

 

As we entered the building we noticed a gigantic vertical TV screen outside. It looks like they’re gonna have some sweet exterior signage soon or something, but both of us immediately had the same thought: This looks a heck of a lot like the suggested display setup for the Denton square. You know, the one that they want to put next to the Confederate soldier statue to say, “HEY BUT YEAH WE AREN’T RACIST NOW SO THIS IS OK.”

Little known facts 2: I experience intermittent insomnia.

 

My whole family sleeps bout as well as if they were in a prison camp, so the fact that I used to sleep like I was drugged as a kid actually made me the envied black sheep (I was the black sheep in many ways, but only envied for this one way). But, ever since some scary and upsetting things happened in college, I've had some bouts of not-sleeping. Other people get headaches or stomach upset when they are stressed; I lose sleep. Literally. It comes and goes, and honestly, even on an insomnia night, I still sleep better than my family so I don't complain too much, just try to chill, read, catch up on TV shows, and reduce caffeine.

 

At the same time that my insomnia was kicked off in college, a fear of the dark was also. So, when I'm not sleeping well, I tend to sleep with the lights on too. Embarrassing, but true . . . and not something a lot of people know about.

 

My five best friends, people who have shared beds with me and . . . that's it.

Bringing the sex factor out of Romain because it is there: day 2.

 

I wiped off the whole face excluding some parts of the stubble, carved the eye sockets bigger and started painting again. I'm much more pleased with the result now that I was yesterday. But I'm not finished with this dude yet! :-D

The Willie Wood was built during World War 2. I served aboard her from 1966-68 while she was flag ship for Destroyer Squadron 36. Sailing in the North Atlantic, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Aegean and into the Black Sea. She was sunk in 1983.

Here is day 2. I made a book, and JLynn & I both started our first dorodango attempts! I used the same new binding technique that I started using yesterday. I found out you have to be more careful about how you pull it tight.
