The weather is a bit naff today so I thought for today's #ThrowbackThursday I'd take a look back to this summer when the weather was nicer!

Although a heritage vehicle at Chesterfield with legal lettering for Yorkshire Traction, East Midlands Leyland Fleetline 15513 (MBE 513R) is on loan to Lincolnshire for the summer to work the seasonal Cleethorpes open top service. It was new to Grimsby-Cleethorpes Transport so this is a welcome return home for the 38 year old Fleetline.

Operated by Stagecoach Grimsby-Cleethorpes at the time, this smart open-top converted Fleetline was new to the erstwhile Grimsby-Cleethorpes Corporation Transport(113), in 01/1977. It would later work for Stagecoach East Midland, out of their Chesterfield depot then Stagecoach Yorkshire Traction. It is seen here at Skipton Bus Station, on 08/10/2006, having arrived from Bolton Abbey Station, of the Bolton Abbey & Embsay Steam Railway, when in operation at the Aire Valley Transport Group Yorkshire Dales Running Day, an event at which Skipton Bus Station is now operated from rather than Bolton Abbey Station when this photo was taken. This Fleetline is now privately owned and has received the orange and white 'GCT' livery.

Looking very good on its 39 years. An old friend I used to travel on in my youth.

Officially a Leyland FE30AGR, they were badged as Daimlers when they arrived at GCT back in early 1977.
