Tuo padre.

Risin' up, back on the streets
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive
So many times, it happend too fast
You change you passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive
It's the eyes of the tiger, it's the cream of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
stalks his prey in the night
And he's watchin' us all in the eyes of the tiger
Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry
They stack the odds till we take to the street
For we kill with the skill to survive
It's the eye of the tiger, it's the cream of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
stalks his prey in the night
And he's watchin' us all in the eyes of the tiger
Risin' up, straight to the top
Have the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive
It's the eye of the tiger, it's the cream of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
stalks his prey in the night
And he's watchin' us all in the eyes of the tiger
The eyes of the tiger
The eyes of the tiger
The eyes of the tiger
The eyes of the tiger
The eyes of the tiger
the survivors
The eyes of the tiger

A double espresso served in an Arabia Ego espresso cup, design by Stefan Lindfors 1998 for Arabia Finland (part of the Iittala group). Would you believe me if I said that this shot is straight out of the camera (sort of, it was shot in raw). All hail to light meters.
Now I know a white espresso cup on a pure white background isn't all that exciting. But it's good practice :)
Strobist info:
I put a sheet of glass on two drinking glasses, to get the "cup floating in air" effect. One 540EZ in a shoot through umbrella camera right and high, and a 430EX on the floor under the sheet of glass pointing up onto the background. Everything was triggered with the Elinchrom Skyport system, metered with Sekonic L-358. The background came out pure white directly out of the camera, only changed the crop (actually made it bigger) and added the text.

Three shots of the Common Blue Butterfly, and there were a few of them flying around. Was pleased to get an open wing shot too to show off the lovely colours.

Having seen a quite a few shots like this on Flickr, I got inspired to try it out myself. This was shot wide open (f/2.8) with the 100mm macro lens.
It is a small deciduous tree growing to 10–15 m tall with a trunk up to 40 cm in diameter, though usually smaller and often with multiple trunks, and a spreading crown of long, arching branches. The bark is smooth, olive-green with regular narrow pale vertical stripes on young trees, eventually becoming dull grey-brown at the base of old trees. The leaves are 6–18 cm long and 4–9 cm broad, with a petiole 3–6 cm long; they are dark green above, paler below, ovate, unlobed or weakly three-lobed, with a serrated margin. They turn to bright yellow, orange or red in the autumn. The flowers are small, yellow, with five sepals and petals about 4 mm long; they are produced on arching to pendulous 7–12 cm racemes in late spring, with male and female flowers on different racemes. The samara nutlets are 7–10 mm long and 4–6 mm broad, with a wing 2–3 cm long and 5 mm broad.

Kokeshi dolls - Ame Agari, Yuzuru & Hohoemi
My wife has recently taken up a lifelong dream – collecting Japanese Kokeshi dolls. As I had taken out the lighting stuff to take a photo of Yuzuru (the middle doll), I thought it would be fun to have a "group portrait" as well.
Strobist information:
Two Lasteolite EzyBox (Hotshoe) with Speedlites 430EX. One camera left, slightly in front of the dolls, the second camera light slightly behind the dolls. A round black reflector acted as a background. Behind the reflector was a window with a white roller blind, letting through a lot of light around the reflector. This helped in giving a "hair light" from above. Everything triggered with Elinchrom Skyports, initial metering done with Sekonic L-358.
