Tools for photography. A shot of all but one of my lenses. Absent in the shot is the "retired" kit lens that I took this photo with. Well, it's not an EF lens anyway, so it wouldn't have qualified to be in the shot ;)
Strobist information: One 430EX with a shoot through umbrella on camera left, and a second snooted 430EX on camera left bouncing via a white reflector on camera right. Both triggered with a ST-E2.

The sun shone, the insects came out! A great wander around Messingham today. Thanks Kev and Colin for your company! Not many Leafhoppers around today but was so pleased to photograph this little beauty!
Gaultheria mucronata, known as prickly heath[1] and in Chilean Spanish as chaura,[citation needed] syn. Pernettya mucronata, is a species of flowering plant in the family Ericaceae, native to southern Argentina and Chile.[2] It is a compact, bushy, evergreen shrub with glossy green leaves and solitary white flowers in spring, followed in autumn by showy globose berries up to 1.5 cm in diameter, in shades from deep plum purple through pink to pure white. It is dioecious, meaning that both male and female plants must be grown together in order to produce fruit. It prefers moist, shaded conditions.

Hamamelis is a winter-flowering shrub, commonly known as witch hazel. Its spicy fragrance and spidery flowers in yellow, orange and reds make it a must for the winter garden.

Our pet tarantula, Harry, molted the other day. Being about 18 years old, she only molts once a year, now. When tarantulas molt, their outer skin splits open along the back and entirely new spider craws out, albeit slightly larger. They even leave behind all their hair and teeth!
That tooth is darn near a half inch long!
