This is almost SOOC..I confess I started shooting jpeg again recently..I know! everyone says you MUST shoot RAW but it was clogging my computer and i discovered than jpegs seem to show less noise than RAW..maybe i am just crazy but with limited time for processing, this seems to be working out just fine...for now anyway. I have changed the settings to a combo of RAW and jpeg when the lighting was extreme, but then I often take multiple exposures anyway just to be sure.. Enfuse is a great program for blending exposures which were taken hand-held. Tweaking can be done after they are all aligned.
Jutro leptirovih misli
Sunce ga obasjava, a svijet oko njega još spava.
Morning Thoughts of a Butterfly
On a twig creaking in the morning quiet, the Adonis Blue gathers strength. The sun bathes it, while the world still sleeps.
Whisperer of Blue Wings
On a stem, in the morning after the rain, the small blue butterfly spreads its sapphire wings. A color that recalls the sea, peace, and freedom.
To approach him is to slow down, steady your breath, and become part of the moment. Today, I succeeded — the butterfly stayed, and I carried a piece of summer in my frame.

A Master of Camouflage on Krk’s Rocky Slopes
Among the rocky terrain near Šilo on the island of Krk, I found this brilliant master of camouflage — a grasshopper from the Acrididae family (likely in the Calliptamus genus). Thanks to its adaptive coloring, it becomes nearly invisible against the stones, protecting itself from predators.
These grasshoppers are famous for their powerful hind legs that act like catapults, propelling them up to 20 times their body length. They are a vital part of the ecosystem, serving both as prey for birds and other animals and as bioindicators of environmental health.
“Sometimes survival is not about standing out, but about knowing exactly how to blend in with the moments around us.” 🌿
Silence on the Edge of a Leaf
The Meadow Brown (Maniola jurtina) – one of the most widespread butterflies in Europe. Adults fly from May to September, easily recognized by their dark brown wings with orange patches and distinctive eye spots. Often resting on the edge of a leaf or blade of grass, they watch the world quietly, almost invisible until they take flight.
Dingy Skipper in Morning Stillness
In the peace of early morning, at the edge of the path, the Dingy Skipper (Erynnis tages) spreads its modest wings. It may lack bright colours, yet under the first rays it reveals a gentle glow of brown and gold. One of spring’s earliest fliers, quiet and unassuming, yet magnificent in its simplicity.

Čudo prirode u minijaturi, skromno i tiho, a opet puno života.
Whispers of the Morning Light
In the stillness of morning, when the light is only awakening,
a Brown Argus rests upon a blade of grass.
A tiny jewel of nature — humble, quiet, yet full of life.
This is another abstract of ice and frost along the edge of a run off at the beach a week ago. The ice was in shade which gives its blue color. I love the feathery fringes we saw that day.

One of our states rarest, a male Gray Petaltail taken in Wabash County, Indiana. Over a dozen were counted in small openings of spring and hillside seepages in the thick forest of their natural habitat.

Happy weekday!!
This is the first image that I took with the new Nikon D6 camera and the new Nikon 120-300mm F2.8 zoom lens. First image cost me $20,000.00! Hopefully I will be able to amortize this over the next million images to reduce the cost per frame!
The Nikon D5 has stood me will. I have taken over 1 million images with that camera, and only had to replace the lens mount once. It has been a great camera, and I will continue to use it until it dies.
My initial reaction to the Nikon D6: It's a D5 with much better focusing options. Quite frankly I purchased it because of the number of actuations on my D5, and I had the money lol.
On the subject of the 120-300 F2.8, I do not regret spending the $11,500.00 (Canadian funds) on this lens. Today I shot off 1500 images of Terns diving for fish. I used it in combination with the TC20EIII. Razor sharp and very responsive. Weight wise, It is almost as heavy as the 600mm that I normally use. But, I do not mind. Since I never use a tripod, I am used to the weight and in fact I prefer it. I find that with a lighter lens, I have a lot more "camera shake". The heavier lenses can be held steady as a rock. Just need some upper body strength, so get off the couch, lift some weight, go out and shoot.
BTW, the money spent on the 120-300 was well worth it - got rid of my 500, 300, 70-200 and 24-70 (trade). The camera bag is a lot lighter now.
Current bag now holds a 14-24, 28-300, 100macro, 120-300, 600, an assortment of tele converters, a D850 body, D5 and D6!

forse qualcuno domani
dimenticherà
alla porta di casa una voce
dimenticherà
che parla alla notte
e parla anche al giorno che arriva
che parla alla notte
e il giorno che passa confonde
che una voce di giorno si spegne
