Gracias!

With the Autumn migration, I heard from my photo club that there should be great bird sightings at Cosumnes River Preserve in Galt, California and couldn't wait to check it out. Since both my husband and I prefer sunset shooting to morning, we headed out there late on Thursday afternoon.
The Preserve promises good things in the upcoming weeks, but the ponds are not yet full enough to attract as many birds as expected. Luckily, a chance encounter with a birder pointed us to the Woodbridge Ecological Preserve just 10 miles down the freeway in Lodi. We were in for a major treat - actually two treats.
Woodbridge is a protected area where sandhill cranes and other migratory birds come in to feed in the farm fields and overnight by the hundreds. More on that another time.
The second treat was meeting Lisa.
Through the Golden Hour and into the Blue, we were happily photographing cranes as they swooped down onto a large pond. We were just thinking of packing it in when Lisa walked up and asked us about our lenses. She had arrived with some friends and, standing a short distance away, had been watching the birds.
Lisa told me she shoots with a Nikon and particularly loves macro-photography, especially photographing bees. After a lively discussion, we said our good-byes. Lisa returned to her group and we walked back to our car.
I was kicking myself for not asking Lisa to participate in the Human Family/100 Strangers projects (and wondering why DH hadn't swooped in) when I realized she was still in the parking area with her friends. I had the wrong lens on my camera, so I grabbed my iPhone and walked over to her.
Lisa immediately said, "yes!" She was totally warm and outgoing and I was in my usual "too shy to ask too many questions" state, but she helped put me at ease.
Lisa is a civil litigation attorney who originally lived in Alameda. She took up skydiving, met her boyfriend of four years and, after he nursed her through a broken leg, permanently moved out to Lodi to be with him.
At that point, my husband joined us and we talked some more photography, promising to keep in touch. We have already exchanged emails (on photography, of course!).

Ella was stranger #1 in my photography project of 100 strangers.
I saw Ella sitting outside a coffee shop in Cambridge as I walked past. I continued walking but eventually did an about turn and thought I must get the project underway. As I returned towards Ella, she had begun walking herself. I made my approach and to my delight, Ella agreed to have her portrait taken.
We walked a short distance to a set of steps where Ella sat patiently whilst I took her portrait.
Ella worked in a nearby lingerie shop and with that, she had to go.
Thank you Ella!
This is included in the group 100 strangers:
That already made a certain time that I said myself “it would be necessary that I face the project, 100 strangers “.
Ok, to kos I would launch out in the adventure!!!
Never by booking our travel of family I do not have to imagine to be able to meet refugees!
At the exit of an archaeological site this found this lady are glance my to disturb, (like each glance to take refuge).
I shine initially has to give money, then I have to ask whether that did not disturb it
to take it in photograph.
Not, she says, with a certain pride!!!
I am taken only one only picture.
Then to start the conversation am I it board to ask “or want you to go “?
Bulgaria says me it.
Thereafter do I ask, where are you going?
Then they were melted in tears, impossible of still marked some words.
I wish it good luck, etc .....
Many emotions in my first meeting, never I will not forget!!!
It is only after my return of travel which I realised that I have to forget to ask for the first name of each people that I took in photograph.
But good I go improved, promised!
I think that this project will be very beneficial for me, initially of conversing with a foreigner then to take the picture, then to write one to summarize opposition, to translate it (thank you google),….
One year ago I would not have never to think of being able to fair this!!!
Thank you FLICKR!!!
Thank you with you all !!!!
PS: to excuse my English !

I spotted Mike waking down the road with his earphones in and his head down, he was moving like he had some purpose. I also loved his tattoos and overall look and thought he would be a great person to say hello to and I have a dark parking garage in mind as a backdrop so I made my approach waving, smiling and motioning to him to remove his headphones.
At moments like these you know it will go one of two ways; you either get your ass kicked or you meet a lovely guy and get a portrait! Fortunately Mike was super lovely and really happy to get invoked posing for some pictures.
Mike was on his way to get a two finished across his chest (weirdly I bumped into him later on and the tattoo artist who worked on him was with him and was someone who Barbara Asboth had photographed previously). Mike is seriously pumped, he works out and sometimes models for bodybuilding, fitness, tattoo and fetish shoots. He is also a pro wrester - pretty cool all round really!
His vast array of stunning tattoos are inspired by horror films, we checked for a classic Nightmare on Elm St and yes Freddy was present on his left arm.
A super cool guy and lovely to bump into. The supplementary shots will be on instagram later: www.instagram.com/urbanscot/ please follow me there if you want to keep up with my portrait projects
