I had fun playing with black and white and my Asian Elements and Asian Dolls set this morning. I smudged so many attempts that I had "parts" left over and this card and scrapling are the result! I felt badly about cutting off her head, but I like the result!! Added liquid pearls wherever I could and a strip of black grosgrain ribbon.

I didn't take part in the blog hop, but Hero Arts, this one's for you!! I had almost stopped stamping entirely until Hero Arts began their blog and I watched for one month. I didn't know how to upload to Flickr and finally couldn't stand it anymore! I spent one tearful and frustrating weekend learning h ow and the rest is history!! Stamping is relaxing for me and I have met such wonderful friends by way of this blog. I enjoyed being a Hero Hostess! What an unexpected happening that was!! Thank you, Hero Arts for being the customer oriented company that you are. And thanks for the website, the blog and the challenges

Here is yet another image from my recent rainy day walk-about in New Dundee Ontario. At the corner of Front and South Streets, stands a building with an interesting paint scheme. Bands of pink, white and yellow decorate the cinder block building and at the corner is a big, black, number 100. Selecting a suitable point of view, the framing in the camera creates the illusion of a type of flag from a simple building wall. - JW

Say hi to Jess, the #5 of 100 Strangers

Jess walked right by me and I walked up to her and told her about this project. Without any hesitation, she agreed.

This is one of those moments, I would hit myself because of those shadows on her face. I should have known better.

Thanks Jess, and hope we will meet again.

Day 100

I had a date with Paul Weller tonight

But I stood him up

He wont realise I had a ticket to see him and didnt show.

I know though.

100/365: A HUNDRED DAYS.

Of love.

Of shine.

Of bokeh.

Of awesomeness.

27.3972% done with Project 365! Here's to another 265 days more! *bows*

so here we are…number 100 of my second 365 project! it's apropos that at some point today I'll reach 100,000 total views on my profile.

this project has been quite a bit different then the last one. not just in subject, but in my approach as well. I feel like this time around has been more about documenting the beauty I see in my life every day. the little things that surround me, but are usually hidden just beneath my awareness.

in that sense, I don't feel as emotionally invested as I did taking pictures of myself everyday. what I do feel though, is more of a connection to my day to day life experience - by documenting the things I see or do or feel.

I'm also paying more attention to the technical aspects of what I'm doing. using the skills and tricks I learned through my previous 365. so far I'm pretty happy with what I've done.

for some reason I haven't felt as compelled to say as much with my images as I did in the past. I'm sorry for any comments or questions that have gone unanswered or seemingly ignored. I truly appreciate all comments and views. THANK YOU! :)

Canon 60D + Cyclop 100/f2

2018 has been a monumental year for superhero films, so I thought what better of a time would it be than count down my top 100 superhero movies of all-time! Now I wanted to make sure I included every Marvel and DC movie I’ve seen on this list, so there are a few “superhero” movies that I have seen, but didn’t make the list. As much as I love some of DC’s animated films, I wanted this list to only contain theatrically released superhero films. One more thing, director’s cuts, no matter how different they are, aren’t roped together with their original film (in case you were wondering why Batman v Superman and Watchmen were so high on the list).

Anyways, here are my 60th-41st favorite superhero films!

41. Unbreakable

42. The Dark Knight Rises

43. V for Vendetta

44. Spider-Man 2

45. The Amazing Spider-Man

46. X-Men Apocalypse

47. Hellboy II: The Golden Army

48. Iron Man 3

49. Iron Man 2

50. Power Rangers

51. The Incredible Hulk

52. Hellboy

53. Batman: The Movie

54. Superman: The Movie

55. Batman

56. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

57. Superman II

58. Thor

59. Blade II

60. X-Men

I'll be uploading these once a day, so stay tuned for tomorrow's 40th-21st favorite superhero films!

Found at Target tonight. It is dark brown with lighter brown highlights.

This is my first photo to receive 100,000 views on Flickr. It may well be the only one that ever passes that milestone, since my 2nd place finisher (Explored #26, and heavily promoted thereafter) has 56k, and none of the rest are out of the 40s yet. It wasn't Explored. It is optimized for search on relevance, and appears at #23 for "flower" and "flowers". It's also licensed for sale through Flickr. It has been my most-viewed photo almost every day for the last year or so, typically getting about 250 views these days. My daily post gets about 200.

I like it because it has nice color and detail, and because it's beginning to show signs of age. I don't think it is a hundred times better than most of my photos. The Flickr geotag says Hell's Kitchen, but it was actually taken along the path in the SW corner of Bryant Park, behind the New York Public Library, and is placed on the map to an accuracy of better than a meter.

By the way, I notice that flickr has auto tagged this screen shot as having a border. Really annoying.

After a gap of over 4 months I have at last resumed my 100 strangers project and with ML travelled up to Brick Lane to meet-up with other members of the group.

On the way there we stopped at the newly refurbished Christ Church at Spittalfields and as we came out of the church saw at the bottom of the steps Pip and Kato.

So in classic beginners fshion I approach Kato, told him about the project, asked for his photograph and completly forgot to look at any of my camera settings! At least they were so far out that I knew straight away something was wrong and I let Kato carry on queuing for a coffee at the vendor while I sorted myself out.

Kato is a lovely soft-spoken guy who was just out with his partner Pip to meet-up with some friends.

After such a long break in this project to say I was rusty was an understatement but I Kato, and Pip were both very kind, friendly and understanding.

Thank you very much Kato for your time, and participating in this project.

Today was time I got my project moving again. I had been into my local town to post my trusty a100 which had been sold and I was carrying the replacement which I am still learning how to get the best out of. Pop of built in flash.

I found a nice location and waited, and waited and nobody caught my eye as a suitable candidate., it was early and not many people about.

I had already missed one guy I had seen with an amazing beard as I had not really had the time to approach him, so when I saw Cindy I thought go for it (dont forget I'm still only on #2). Cindy had her headphones on and once I caught her up and explained the project she was happy to be part of it.

Cindy is in college studying Law and hopes to eventually have a career in that field. Thanks for being part of my group, and good luck with your studies.

Not as sharp as I would have liked, but the lens was wide open, tamron 17-50 f2.8 I think I'll close it down a little next time.

071 / 100

Zehya Chela

Gabriola Island

When I saw the twinkle in her eye, I knew that I had

a candidate for my project. After I explained the 100 Strangers concept, she enthusiastically agreed to be photographed.

Zehya Chelan is a professional musician, performing artist, and

mother of a your autistic son, who has been her primary focus.

She lives on Gabriola Island.

As a blessing she gave me three hearts, representing body, mind and spirit. Yes, my life has been enriched by this connection.
