A different Cuckoo for a change. This one was seen in Scotland.

Just like hope ...

Malgré des températures polaires et des vents arctiques, ce rosier de mon jardin semble se porter à merveille.......sauf que tous ces boutons ne s'ouvriront pas ! Pour vous dire, les buissons juste à côté sont remplis de glace !!!

Despite very low temperatures which make us think we live in the South Pole, this rose tree is full of rosebuds in my garden. But they won't bloom !

Sahara dust is dust from the Sahara that ends up on earth with the rain. During dust and sand storms, which occur in the desert area, the dust can reach up to kilometers in the atmosphere. When the air current is directed from south to north over an enormous distance, the Sahara dust can even reach above the Netherlands and Belgium or even further north.

The house to the house is a water castle coming from the 13-th century in the Angerbach in Ratingen.

The water castle was established around 1276 as a family seat of the nobility gender „vom Haus“ and was a part of a row of defensive arrangements along the Anger, the so-called "Angerlinie".

pokanne oldest Ballroom

The design of this venue was inspired by the Doge's Palace in Venice, built in the elaborate Venetian Gothic style. When it was completed in 1908, the Hall of the Doges was called the most opulent ballroom north of San Francisco. During the 2002 restoration, the Hall of The Doges was lifted intact by crane to become the only "flying ballroom" in the world. When the new building was erected, the ballroom was carefully placed back into the new structure as the foyer to the Grand Pennington Ballroom.

Into the archive. Reflections of the Charles Bridge, St. Vitus Cathedral, and the Prague Castle.

Cada ciudad puede ser otra

cuando el amor la transfigura

cada ciudad puede ser tantas

como amorosos la recorren

el amor pasa por los parques

casi sin verlos amándolos

entre la fiesta de los pájaros

y la homilía de los pinos

cada ciudad puede ser otra

cuando el amor pinta los muros

y de los rostros que atardecen

unos es el rostro del amor

y el amor viene y va y regresa

y la ciudad es el testigo

de sus abrazos y crepúsculos

de sus bonanzas y aguaceros

y si el amor se va y no vuelve

la ciudad carga con su otoño

ya que le quedan sólo el duelo

y las estatuas del amor.

Dunguaire Castle (Irish: Dún Guaire) is a 16th-century tower house on the southeastern shore of Galway Bay in County Galway, Ireland, near Kinvara (also spelled Kinvarra). The name derives from the Dun of King Guaire, the legendary king of Connacht. The castle's 75-foot (23 m) tower and its defensive wall have been restored, and the grounds are open to tourists during the summer.

The castles slates are from an old school in Kinvara (co.Galway). The school was bought, the owners who bought the castle gave the slates to the castle and are still there today.

Toruń is one of most attractive and historic towns in Poland.

It is famous for being the birthplace ( in 1474 ) of the Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus whose epochal book, De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium is universally regarded as the starting point of modern astronomy.

In 1997 the old medieval quarter of Toruń comprising the Old Town ( 1233 ), the New Town ( 1264 ) and the Teutonic Knights Castle ( mid 13th c. ) was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for having preserved almost intact its original medieval street layout. Toruń is full of Gothic monuments of architecture, all built of brick, such as the Town Hall, The Leaning Tower, numerous churches and many burgher houses around the central market square and the surrounding streets.

If you ever are in Gdańsk on the coast, I recommend driving down to Toruń - it's only 2hrs away on the motorway - the place has a great artistic atmosphere and a lively cafe scene.

This had been sitting on my bucket list, for a long while. I was thrilled to be able to capture this sunstar, behind Wizard Island. The weather was very unpredictable, with a clouds and snow forecast every day. My first luck was to be able to find a room at the Crater Lake Lodge, which had recently opened after winter closure. Being a light sleeper, I kept looking out the window, every time I woke up during the night, in the hope of seeing some clearing, to have some sun for my sunrise. I also had the bonus luck of capturing some moonlit night images, which I'll post at a later time.

This is a three 24mm horizontal image panorama.

As always, thanks for stopping by and looking, I appreciate your comments and visits.
