(Yes, this photo is edited - but not as much as you might think. The colours were quite extraordinary.)

Allan Gardens Conservatory is a major landmark and tourist attraction in downtown Toronto. Its historic, cast-iron and glass domed "Palm House" was built in 1910 and is designated under the Ontario Heritage Act. A botanical gem in the heart of the city, Allan Gardens has a permanent collection of exotic plants and beautiful seasonal flower shows.

This is a view from one of the Latvia's most shallow lakes, Kanieris, bird paradise.

We went to its bird watching tower over the scenic wooden boardwalk, and on the way saw swans, ducks, and wagtails, white herons and geese, but none of them close enough to get a good photo.

The cities and towns were far away, so the only sounds was rustle of reeds in wind, light splashes of low waves, and calls, songs and chit-chat of birds. In the place where the reeds completely surrounded the path, it felt as if we would be surrounded by noisy students of a bird university during lunch break. Sounds came from all around, but birds were masterfully hiding from us. Only when we stopped for few minutes motionless, some bunch of pretty tiny yellow birds landed down on the path, but while I tried to get my camera and capture some group portrait, they realized they were not alone and left... So I can share only story about them and photo of reeds where they were hiding. :-)

The Highlight Towers are twin office towers located in the the Parkstadt Schwabing area of Munich. With a height of 126m resp. 113m they belong to the tallest buildings in Munich.

The towers are connected by two glass/steel bridges, a double bridge at the 9th/10th floor and a single bridge at the 20th floor. Design by Murphy/Jahn (Chicago, USA).

I found this little waterfall on the website ctwaterfalls.com. Since where I live in N Indiana is so flat, there really isn't much in the way of waterfalls to photograph, so visiting Connecticut gives me the chance to indulge in one of my favorite subjects to photograph. On this morning, however, I forgot my tripod! So, I used my sweatshirt instead to prop my camera on for this shot. And despite the title, no showers were taken by me at this location.

The cool green shade over Leigh Brook as it babbles through the trees.

The building in this shot is Ossians Hall a Folly at the Hermitage in Perthshire. The trees are just starting to turn there now, in another couple of weeks it will be spectacular but unfortunately I am away (on another holiday) so will miss this.

I used a polariser on this just to cut the reflections on the rocks and the leaves, this and an ND grad helped to take the exposure time down to 1 second which was just enough to keep some structure in the water, while smoothing it out.

A popular site in Portknockie is Bow Fiddle Rock, a large rock about 50 feet high just off the coast. The quartzite structure has a large sea arch, which somewhat resembles the bow of a fiddle, making it an example of a natural arch.

I'm not sure what kind of birds these juveniles are, seen at the Detroit Zoo last month, but the little one here seemed mighty feisty and was picking lots of fights.
