This magnificent informal landscape garden was laid out in the 18th century by 'Capability' Brown and further developed in the early years of the 20th century by its owner, Arthur G. Soames. The original four lakes form the centrepiece. There are dramatic shows of daffodils and bluebells in spring, and the rhododendrons and azaleas are spectacular in early summer. Autumn brings stunning colours from the many rare trees and shrubs, and winter walks can be enjoyed in this garden for all seasons. Visitors can now also explore South Park (you have to book your visit because of the covid-19 pandemic) , 107 hectares (265 acres) of historic parkland, with stunning views.

This had been sitting on my bucket list, for a long while. I was thrilled to be able to capture this sunstar, behind Wizard Island. The weather was very unpredictable, with a clouds and snow forecast every day. My first luck was to be able to find a room at the Crater Lake Lodge, which had recently opened after winter closure. Being a light sleeper, I kept looking out the window, every time I woke up during the night, in the hope of seeing some clearing, to have some sun for my sunrise. I also had the bonus luck of capturing some moonlit night images, which I'll post at a later time.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is located in portions of North Carolina and Tennessee. Taking backroads from Cherokee, NC all the way to Gatlinburg, TN provides magnificent views with the Little Pigeon River running next to the highway most of the distance. In the fall the trees come alive with incredible color. I love to stop along the road and listen to the water running over the boulders and look at the fall foliage. Doesn't get much better than this. (Edited in Lightroom and Topaz)

Malgré des températures polaires et des vents arctiques, ce rosier de mon jardin semble se porter à merveille.......sauf que tous ces boutons ne s'ouvriront pas ! Pour vous dire, les buissons juste à côté sont remplis de glace !!!
